Job Description

What a Marketing Director does at Visa

The Marketing Director for our business in Thailand is accountable for the strategy setting and execution oversight of Visa’s brand, solutions and client marketing activities (B2B). We are looking for a well-rounded marketing leader, adept at both brand marketing and marketing consultancy / servicing.

You will report to the Head of Marketing, Thailand and will be part of the Thailand Country Team as well as part of the SMT (Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand) cluster to accelerate business growth, with a profit and loss (P&L) mindset focused on optimizing team performance and marketing investment. You will drive brand consistency, local market relevance and customer centricity within the organization by understanding the evolving payment ecosystem and changing consumer needs. You will also be responsible for VAS revenue targets, which is a consultancy-based function that quantifies the level of engagement that our clients have with our marketing practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build, design, and deliver brand marketing strategies to achieve Thailand’s annual business goals, in alignment with regional and global priorities.
  • Deliver the Marketing VAS revenue target by leveraging Visa’s marketing services (Sponsorships, Creative, Card Design, Marketing Advisory) in partnership with VCA and the regional marketing team.
  • Lead and oversee execution of consumer marketing programs, including merchant partnerships, point-of-sale brand visibility, and Visa-led/client-led campaigns.
  • Strengthen digital and social marketing capabilities, manage always-on content strategy, monthly social calendars, and social media monitoring in partnership with media and social agencies.
  • Manage sponsorship portfolio including local implementation of global platforms (e.g., FIFA, Olympics), contract negotiation, and performance evaluation.
  • Build strong relationships with key business partners and merchants to support campaign launches and explore new partnership opportunities.
  • Work with issuers and partners to ensure Visa’s fair share in earned media channels and maximize co-marketing impact.
  • Serve as the marketing thought leader within the Thailand country team, fostering innovation and strategic alignment with the regional marketing team in Singapore.
  • Manage Thailand marketing budget, including forecasting, financial reporting, and adherence to Visa’s financial policies.
  • Drive excellence in project management, campaign reporting, and ROI tracking using standardized templates, methodology, and a test-and-learn approach.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Marketing Communication preferred
  • Minimum 12 years of proven experience in consumer and client marketing management, ideally within top-tier Financial Services, Payments, Technology, or FMCG industries.
  • Passion for Visa’s business and technology innovation, with high energy and strategic thinking.
  • Proven experience in building brands, managing great creative work, effective partnership in managing agencies across creative, media, digital, research, and below-the-line activities
  • Strong project management and analytical skills, with a track record of delivering results in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills: fluent in spoken and written English.
  • High learning agility, self-driven mindset, and ability to lead, collaborate, and inspire teams.
  • Demonstrates proven ability to work with clients across existing and new partners
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed organization and work collaboratively across internal and external stakeholders
