- Our mission is to develop Merchant Partnerships across multiple industry verticals and grow existing portfolios. The team is engaged across multiple functions within the Visa organization to bring the very best of Visa’s expertise and assets to our clients - earning well-qualified wins to drive revenue growth while building trust and growing engagement and satisfaction among teammates, partners and clients.
- The role requires leadership, vision, and creativity to develop the overall strategy, drive the expansion of Visa products and solutions, and lead the overall commercialization of Visa’s business development objectives. In turn deliver the best of Visa solutions to our clients and help them meeting their business objectives.
- This role will collaborate with teams from functions across Visa such as solutions, consulting & analytics, finance, merchant sales, issuer relationship, customer support, and marketing. Externally, this role will collaborate with key client executives.
The nitty gritty
So what do we expect of you, day to day?
- The Merchant Sales and Acquiring team in GCC manages merchant accounts in the region. The role of the team is to build and grow existing products and solutions with merchants, and develop and grow new ones as per the merchant requirements.
- This role will mainly focus on clients in the travel and entertainment sector
- You will be expected to both manage existing relationships, and win new ones. This can be in the form of growing existing business (through product and relationship management) and winning new business (by responding to RFPs)
- Cobrands form an important product for merchants. A major part of the role would be to grow existing cobrands, and develop new cobrands
- The role requires you to be an owner of the product and work with functional areas to develop an all encompassing strategy for the growth of the merchant
- As the owner of the merchant relationship, you will also be responsible for making inroads into other businesses of the merchant and to maintain relationships and engage across multiple levels
- You will be expected to understand the merchant vision and strategy and align and pitch Visa products (where relevant) for mutual growth of the merchant and Visa
- Serve as internal and external thought leader responsible for communicating Visa's merchant partnership vision, strategy and perspective within a rapidly evolving industry
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
• Relevant Bachelor´s degree, MBA preferred
• Business expertise in payments, airline and hotel verticals.
• Proven experience in client management
• Extensive experience in payment products (i.e. credit cards, pre-paid, etc). Proven ability managing a pipeline, negotiating business agreements, and driving commercial results.
• Fluent in program management best practices along with implications for issuers, networks and merchants. Co-brand issuing experience, Cards/Co-brand portfolio P&L expertise, with analytics orientation, preferably across a variety of markets and relevant industries such as airline and hotels.
• Proven track record of successful sales and relationship management with proven ability to interact at the ‘C’ level executives within client organizations
• Proven ability negotiating business agreements and ability to develop new business partnerships with merchants
• Demonstrated experience building and leveraging strong relationships within internal organization and client organizations at multiple levels.
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with high level of success/achievement.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
