Job Description
Job Summary: As the Director of Cloud Engineering, you will lead and manage resources responsible for delivering advanced cloud solutions across Visa’s Workplace Technology, including Microsoft 365, Azure, and associated hybrid environments. You will Lead cloud strategy and implementation, focusing on emerging SaaS technologies, Cybersecurity, Compliance, and User Experience. In addition, you will oversee various cloud engineering projects to ensure seamless integration, migration, governance, and automation across our cloud services.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
- Lead a team of cloud engineers and architects in developing and deploying cloud solutions.
- Manage resource allocation, project timelines, and ensure the delivery of high-quality results.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
- Guide and mentor team members in setting and achieving their annual Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering professional growth.
Cloud Solutions and Migrations
- Oversee the implementation and support of Microsoft 365 employee productivity, AI, and collaboration suites.
- Manage Identity Synchronization, Federation, and Authentication (SSO) across Microsoft Azure solutions.
- Ensure a robust Cloud Connect on-premises architecture for hybrid scenarios, including identities, messaging, and authentication.
- Oversee Global Enterprise Azure and Microsoft 365 Cloud Solutions, emphasizing Identity & Access Management, Identity Federation, and Hybrid Architecture.
- Manage Microsoft tenants and vendor relationships.
- Utilize BitTitan Corporate Cloud Migration tool for seamless Microsoft 365 tenant migrations, particularly for mergers and acquisitions.
- Ensure minimal disruption and downtime during migrations, maintaining data integrity and security.
- Orchestrate Virtual Machine Lifecycle Automation to streamline provisioning and management across multi-cloud environments.
Data Protection & Governance:
- Implement Microsoft Purview solutions to govern, protect, and manage data across on-premises, multi-cloud, and SaaS environments.
- Develop and maintain a Cloud Cybersecurity framework in compliance with major regulatory standards (PCI, FFIEC, GDPR, CCPA, SOX).
Office 365 Hybrid Infrastructure:
- Support and maintain Microsoft 365 on-premises hybrid server infrastructure, including Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), Web Application Proxy (WAP), Microsoft Entra Connect, and Exchange Hybrid WAP.
- Ensure seamless integration and communication between on-premises and cloud environments.
Microsoft Enterprise License Agreement Interface:
- Engage with Customer Success Account Managers to ensure that Visa’s needs are met across service management, contract credits, and resourcing.
AI & Automation:
- Deliver major productivity and automation improvements among the team.
- Enable the enterprise for AI success through platforms and services.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Cybersecurity, compliance, and business units to align cloud strategies with organizational goals.
- Communicate status, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership and stakeholders.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on Microsoft 365, Azure, and hybrid environments.
- Proven leadership experience managing large technical teams and complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of cloud migration tools, data protection, governance solutions, and virtual machine lifecycle automation.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications in relevant cloud technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
- Expertise in Cloud Azure IdP, Cloud IDPaaS, Manage Identity Synchronization, Federation, Authentication Federation Solutions, Windows Hello for Business, and FIDO2 standards.
- Drive the development and continuous improvement of scalable global AuthN and AuthZ frameworks from concept to delivery.
- Experience in designing and implementing Cloud B2B, B2B2E, and B2B2C authentication and authorization frameworks.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 176,400.00 to 256,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
