Job Description

Shopping habits of Consumers have been changing – transacting online is becoming more popular than face to face, we are shopping on many different devices and, have more choices available to pay for goods / services. Visa is not only creating fit for purpose capabilities to benefit from these changes, but also shaping and accelerating the shift by designing new payment experiences. Visa is heavily investing in its Design Team to help support its growing digital product line. We are looking for a Staff Designer to join our team to help shape the future of payments.

In this role, you will design products and services to create high-impact deliverables that help our clients drive their businesses forward. You will conceptualize, co-create, design and present engaging experiences, effectively collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams—Product, Business Development & Strategy, Data & Analytics—to deliver value for our clients.

The candidate should have for using design to solve problems and seasoned presentation skills are a must. The candidate should have consultative design strategy experience and the ability to speak with fluency to product management, consulting, marketing and analytics partners alike. Candidates should be in Berlin, Germany.

Role responsibilities include

  • Visa’s business is primarily B2B but it has a strong focus on end user experience. In your day to day, you would be creating user experience and user interfaces that will bring to life Visa capabilities for its B2B Clients but also design with end users in mind. Hence, you be an advocate for our users.
  • You will work on different payment experiences such improving authentication in online transactions, interactions with digital identities, or translating Visa’s insights from data into real world examples.
  • Your primary stakeholders would be the leadership of the design team. However, you would directly engage product managers, account executives, research and, consulting teams. You will collaborate with this teams and build upon their vision using sound design principles to ensure alignment and project success.
  • In your day-to-day you are expected to exercise independent judgment with minimal direction required from your supervisor, own and make design decisions and, capture requirements and, design flows.
  • Document designs and consult with engineers to ensure they are built and function as intended.
  • In your role, you will develop a deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, commerce trends, Visa’s Innovation practice and Visa capabilities in order to effectively communicate to clients and partners
  • Effectively demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications


• Bachelor's Degree in Human Factors, Design, Psychology, Sociology or related field, advanced degree (MS/MFA) preferred
• Relevant experience in mobile native UX, design strategy, interaction, visual and content design
• An online portfolio that demonstrates outstanding product and system thinking.
