Job Description
Our Finance Velocity Office was designed to accelerate our path to building a world-class finance function. This function is shaping our transformation strategy, improving our business operations and enhancing the impact we make as a function. Why velocity? As a key leader in the Finance Velocity Office, this role will serve as the Program Leader for the Finance Organization workstream, leading the implementation of the new operating model. This person requires strong program management experience, ideally in an Organizational Transformation context in Finance. The role requires an experienced leader who will manage the overall program, drive senior stakeholder engagement and reporting, lead delivery against overall roadmap and ensure a rigorous approach to change and communications.
This role reports to the SVP, Finance Transformation Officer and will have frequent interaction with the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Leadership Team and Executive level stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
Strategy and Approach:
- Operating model implementation strategy: Define & manage cross-functional approach & transition activities across all Finance Function
- Advisory support: Provide subject matter expertise, thought partnership and problem solve with key stakeholders to proactively identify issues and navigate roadblocks, enable decisions and influence direction in support of design principles
- Process / Implementation playbook: Develop and implement a playbook with relevant subject matter experts to enforce standardized protocols and consistent documentation to support operating model transition across Visa Finance including Shared Services Centers
Program setup:
- Governance structure: Define the governance structure and cadence for the overall program
- Mobilization of implementation teams: Work with Functional Leaders to identify key resources, onboard team, build capabilities and support team to rollout strategy.
Program Management:
- Team management: Manage cross-functional teams at center and in Functions to problem solve and ensure consistent approach to delivering changes
- Program Governance: In partnership with Project manager, drives program cadence, steering resources (support team) and business stakeholders (including Finance Leadership team, working teams, Real Estate, HR and external consultants) against robust timelines/deliverables. Accountable for development of rigorous and detailed plans and ensure delivery of the overall transformation roadmap. Be the ‘glue’ that keeps the Velocity Office informed and organized on the Organization workstream
- Risk management: Accountable to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to delivery of overall roadmap
- Performance management: Develop milestones and KPIS for overall program in partnership with the project manager. Deliver reporting for regular meetings and on an ad hoc basis as needed
Stakeholder engagement and change management:
- Stakeholder and change management: Develop and ensure delivery of change and comms plan for the program. Proactively engage with and provide updates to key stakeholders including CEO, Finance Leadership Team. Partner with Comms, COS team and HR on communications approach for employees. Ensure alignment to broader enterprise transformation efforts e.g., Enterprise Transformation Office and Corporate Strategy
- External stakeholders: Leverage external best practice as needed for targeted consulting support. Manage consultants including scoping, RFP process and serve as main point of contact for day-to-day delivery of work
- Executive Communications and Presentations: In partnership with corporate comms and other key stakeholders Design and deliver compelling narrative and presentations to effectively illustrate complex ideas, findings, ideas and recommendations, tailored to various audiences including CEO, CFO, Finance Leadership Team and Executive Committee and Broader Finance. Facilitates presentations and meetings to drive to key outcomes and decisions
- Influence: without accountability as teams will report directly to other teams
Initiative delivery
- Accountability over select key initiatives: Drive and deliver key workstreams as/where needed to pressure test, bolster or drive critical deliverables e.g. the creation of SLAs and/or a knowledge transfer program, location
- FP&A Transformation: Drive detailed design and implementation approach for FP&A transformation in partnership with FP&A Sponsor readiness, etc.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
• 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
• 15+ years professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, MBA and/or project, change management, Lean, Six-Sigma, Agile certifications a plus
• Expertise in program management with financial and budget management experience in an operating model transformation environment required. Experience in Finance operating model transformation preferred
• Experience in Finance and/or Financial Planning & Analysis team, preferred
• Familiar with agile ways of working
• Entrepreneurial and flexible, strategic thinker who can balance strategy with detailed execution
• Expert in the use of program and business management tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex information into a compelling narrative, and in a variety of formats (ex. presentations, talking points, executive summaries, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail
• Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills in a global, matrixed environment with cross-functional teams
• Self-starter, results oriented individual with the ability to “roll up their sleeves” and handle numerous projects concurrently
• Ability to anticipate issues before they arise and work to proactively support resolution
• Proven track record of driving results, even when faced with ambiguous circumstances
• Exceptional personal accountability and the highest of ethical standards
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 188,400.00 to 273,250.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
