The Ecosystem & Operational Risk team is responsible for building critical risk and fraud detection services at Visa. This includes idea generation, architecture, design, development, and testing of products, applications, and services that provide solutions to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud for Visa and its clients. 

 

This position is ideal for an experienced software engineer who is passionate about solving challenging business problems and building applications that provide an excellent user experience. You will be one of the leaders of the EOR development team focusing on design and build of software solutions that leverage data to solve business problems. Sometimes you will be designing brand-new software solutions, and at other times you may be refactoring existing functionality for performance and maintainability, but always working on ways to make us more efficient and provide better solutions to our customers. The role is for a self-motivated individual with expert software engineering skills and extensive user interface design and development experience. The candidate will be extensively involved in leading hands-on software engineering activities including POCs, architecture, design, documentation, development and test of new functionality. Candidate must be flexible and willing to switch tasks based on team’s needs

 

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with project team members (Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Developers, Project Managers, etc.) to ensure development and implementation of new data driven business solutions.

  • Drive development effort End-to-End for on-time delivery of high-quality solutions that conform to requirements, conform to the architectural vision, and comply with all applicable standards.  Responsibilities span all phases of solution development.

  • Collaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolved.

  • Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.

  • Engagement in requirements definition and clarification in collaboration with Business to ensure completeness and common understanding of the business needs is important.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• 2+ years of strong, demonstrable experience working as a Software Developer using C#, .NET, .NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC or other Microsoft based development tools.
• Experience with relational database systems such as Microsoft SQL
• Knowledge and experience in web service design and implementation.
• Experience writing automation testing for web applications, services and back-end processes.
• Experience working in CI/CD environment and with the full Atlassian toolset (Jira, Zephyr, Bitbucket).
• Experience with robust software governance practices, building software designs, reviewing with architects etc.
• Experience working cross functionally in teams using Agile, Iterative development processes and methodologies.
• Self-motivated, quick learner who can manage multiple projects with minimal direction
• Strong analytical skills with excellent problem-solving ability
• Ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise way

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 102,300.00 to 144,550.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
