Within this team, the external communication team focuses on communication programs to support the region’s leaders and prominent business functions including Products and Solutions, Innovation, Commercial Money Movement Solutions and Merchant Sales and Acquiring. We work across external, client and employee communication activities to promote Visa’s products and solutions, our work with fintech and big tech partners and Visa’s ongoing strategy to extend our payments network into new areas of opportunity. In close partnership with the business functions, our team defines the company’s positions in the region on industry innovations and delivers corresponding thought leadership content.
What a Senior Manager, Corporate Communications does at Visa:
In this role, you will work with the AP leadership team and key functions including Products and Solutions, Innovation, Digital Partnerships, Merchant Sales and Acquiring. You will conceptualise and deliver communication programs that drive business results for Visa’s critical growth pillars. You will oversee aspects of regional thought leadership communications including content for external, client and internal audiences. This includes comprehensive corporate storytelling collateral, media and social campaigns, and stakeholder education delivered via a mix of channels including events.
In this role, you will be the regional communications lead for a range of areas that are central to Visa’s growth. You will manage the communications needs of the relevant functional teams and oversee communication campaigns that reflect these areas’ increased importance to Visa’s long-term growth strategy.
It is vital for the applicant to demonstrate knowledge and capability in helping regional and local business and communication teams engage stakeholders and reinforce Visa’s vision for the future of commerce as it relates to our long-term commitment to uplift economies. In addition to delivering high-quality communication programs, you will act as a trusted advisor to Visa’s leadership team in some of the region’s largest and most high-profile functions, helping them talk about their business objectives in a way that has a meaningful impact in the communities in which we operate. You will also play a key role in ensuring the company’s public and client-facing messages in Asia Pacific are communicated with a whole-of-Visa perspective, breaking down internal silos and coordinating across geographies to make sure all content, from press releases to speeches, is consistent and aligned.
Why this is important to Visa
In this role, you will be a member of a high-performing team charged with all aspects of corporate communications for critical business functions in Asia Pacific – areas that are focused on maintaining Visa’s leadership in innovative products and solutions and merchant engagement in an increasingly complex operating environment. As the Visa network evolves beyond plastic cards into a network of networks that can facilitate money movement to anyone, anywhere, it is essential to our long-term success that we communicate this evolution to all our constituents and define Visa as a purpose-driven payments technology company that enables individuals, businesses, and economies to thrive.
Projects you will be a part of:
This team creates and leads many of the highest profile communication programs in the region. We oversee the Asia Pacific communication strategy to define and articulate Visa’s network evolution as it relates to innovation, trust and corporate citizenship. On a tactical level, you’ll be responsible for owning corporate communications in the following business areas:
- Products and Solutions
- Big tech and fintech partnerships, including all fintech engagement programs and overseeing partner communications activities
- Merchant Sales and Acquiring

You’ll also contribute to communication programs across the broader business areas that the regional AP comms team is responsible for:
- All Products and Solutions, including eCommerce, tokenisation, loyalty, instalments, credit/debit/prepaid, tap to phone, data solutions, digital wallets and new product development.
- Innovations shaping the payments landscape, such as digital currency and data. This includes close partnership with and communication programs for the Singapore Innovation Center.

You will lead or work on communication programs that incorporate every aspect of the communications discipline, including public relations and social media (press announcements, key messaging, media interviews, bylines), client-facing communications (leading development of client-facing thought leadership collateral, supporting major client events) and employee communications (working closely with the Employee Communications team to promote product and merchant priorities on internal channels and at the annual regional market kick-off.)
You will work with the most senior leaders in the region to help them achieve their business objectives through strategic communication programs, and you will have a chance to work closely with colleagues in every market in Asia Pacific, as well as our global colleagues in the United States.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. You’ll enjoy this role more if you’re intellectually curious, and excel in creative, solution-oriented problem solving. You should be a flexible thinker, able to make decisions based on limited or changing information and be able to adapt plans at the speed of a news cycle.
To manage the wide range of stakeholders you’ll have in this role, you should be able to build a strong network of colleagues across functions and geographies. You’ll have a talent for uncovering newsworthy information that might be hiding in pockets of the organisation, while at the same time being able to coach stakeholders about what kind of information isn’t relevant to the outside world.
