Job Description

Global Client Services works with issuers, acquirers, processors and merchants worldwide to develop and deliver the support model for Visa Inc. This includes day-to-day operations and product support, back office support and customer performance reporting

The Sr. Manager Client Publications will be responsible for the management of client facing content across web (Visa Online) and email (Visa Business News) channels. They will have an understanding of the different strategies behind online and email publishing and will work to ensure there is a cohesive client experience with the content. This individual will also be responsible for leading a team of content specialists who work directly with content owners to plan their communications and provide editorial services for the work. Strong project management and change management are a must. 

In addition to content planning and team leadership, this individual will also be responsible for the day-to-day intake/initial evaluation of content and the scheduling of the publication dates for the email and online platforms.

This role is not an editor and will not be responsible for editorial work on the content, but will use their strong business acumen to understand the message in the content, how it will impact the clients and the business, and will use this information to prioritize work  across platforms.

Essential Functions

  • Drives thought leadership and change – able to think outside the box and identify different ways to address the work at hand
  • Strong knowledge of project mgmt. skills and have a good understanding of process flow, scaling teams and what tools could be utilized to further develop/streamline process
  • Responsible for the scheduling and tracking of many moving pieces in an editorial environment across multiple platforms (VOL / VBN)
  • Responsible for ensuring deadlines are met and email editions go out on time.
  • Strong business acumen - Able to grasp big pictures impacts of decisions and how priority work plays into decision making and able to prioritize accordingly
  • Able to successfully collaborate with multiple cross functional teams across Visa to obtain desired outcome quickly and professionally
  • Able to negotiate with peers and individuals Sr. to them in a positive and constructive manner
  • Comfortable pushing back and making tough decisions
  • Maintains a positive constructive attitude with their team and others. Spreads positivity and drives team to growth
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team, training and growing individuals

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • Preferable experience in financial services industry
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results driven, team-oriented environment
  • People management experience and ability to inspire, grow and mentor staff in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as able to manage an established team
  • Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Initiative and independent judgment is required to search out solutions within context of broad goals and long-term objectives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 121,000.00 to 175,400.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
