Team Summary

The Australia and New Zealand South Pacific Merchant Sales & Solutions team is responsible for the short-term and long-term growth of merchant acceptance for Visa’s existing and new Digital products and services. The team achieve its success through working with and through its acquiring partners, key merchant partners and the technology firms driving innovation in the marketplace.

Within the team, the Visa Acceptance and Cybersource Solutions business is a key growth lever in AUNZSP. In such a competitive area of our network business, having a scheme agnostic, modular and open asset such as Visa Acceptance and Cybersource Solutions ensures we can grow diversified revenue pools for the business, compete with other global platforms and gateways, and deliver seller solutions to many players in payments. Bringing the specialised functions together under this Cybersource team – including sales, new business development, account management and technical and risk services – makes sense for our business.

 

What a Business Development Leader, Visa Acceptance Cybersource does at Visa:

In this Director level role, the Business Development Leader will be an integral part of our Visa Acceptance and Cybersource Solutions team supporting key client deliverables to ensure we have a strong sales strategy and delivery for key client initiatives for Australia. This role is a field sales position within our growing Australia team that will help drive the expansion of Visa Value Added Services business. This role is responsible for targeting retailers, acquirers, and service providers as well as other companies accepting payments to add them to our growing digital products portfolio. The Business Development Leader will work closely with other Visa teams to offer Visa products for checkout, processing, analytics, fraud, security, and other digital solutions to the Australian market. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a sales background, having strong payment technical skills that can work independently in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. He or she must be a fast learner who can quickly absorb the nuances of complex, varied payment offerings.  

  • Identify prospects, manage the sales process, and close new businesses
  • Contribute to the strategic initiatives in AU to become the leading processor/gateway across card present, ecommerce and omnichannel opportunities
  • Act as a customer advocate – Work closely with global product teams to help shape the roadmap
  • Develop targeted product and industry use-cases based on market needs
  • Partner with teams to contribute to and support the delivery of go-to-market strategies for specific prospects and products
  • Identify prospects, and manage the sales process including sales campaigns
  • Enhance partnerships to develop new value propositions
  • Lead RFPs and RFIs for key prospects
  • Be the face of Visa Acceptance and Cybersource in the external market for our Visa Acceptance and Cybersource Solutions
  • Collaborate with other business units such as the Digital Partnerships team to expand the ecosystem
  • Drive reseller volumes through the Acquirer Acceleration Program
  • Maintain and share knowledge of existing and new acceptance products with broader Visa team

 

What you will need:

  • Payment’s domain experience with a proven track record in solution sales and familiarity with both current and emerging payment trends across cards, A2A and alternate payment methods
  • Tech-savvy - knowledge of payment commerce technologies for card -present, eCommerce and omnichannel experiences, demonstrating familiarity with API-led solutions
  • Demonstrated track record of success in cross team collaboration with product/engineering/presales engineering teams to drive commercial outcomes
  • Highly adaptable with exposure gained working in fast-moving and agile environments
  • Has a collaborative mindset and drives collective success by fostering cooperation and synergy across multiple teams
  • Ideal candidates would have come from a Product role or B2B sales experience, demonstrating strong technical-based sales and partnerships commercial achievements
  • Strong partnerships experience
  • B2B enterprise software or technology consultative sales experience
  • Previous experience in the eCommerce, Customer Present, merchant and payment industries
  • Strong written and verbal communication and excellent presentation skills
  • Strong background with demonstrated success closing high volume business
  • Experience with managing longer sales cycles and driving multiple simultaneous opportunities to success
  • Knowledge of payment and/or risk management systems and the industry is preferred
