Job Description
The Sr. Director, Global Integrated Marketing for Emerging Platforms is part of the Global Brand Integrated Marketing team reporting into the VP, Global Integrated Marketing. This role is responsible for leading the planning, development, and go-to-market execution for emerging brand platforms that are globally-led and either are and/or have the potential to be multi-regional in scope and scale. This can range from the marketing and development of emerging cultural spaces such as gaming, music, and the creator economy; to the marketing of new global sponsorship platforms such our partnership within the F1 world.
This individual and their team will partner with marketing executives, global marketing functions (including brand strategy & innovation, insights & analytics, creative & content, digital, sponsorship, experiential, PR and comms, product marketing, etc.), regional brand marketing teams, and cross-functional business teams to execute the emerging brand platforms in support of key business outcomes.
The position will be based in Visa’s Los Angeles, California office.
Essential Functions
Integrated Marketing Strategy & Planning
- Develop high-impact integrated marketing plans for the global brand team’s emerging platforms that are aligned with Visa's corporate objectives and growth strategies across markets.
- Partner with global marketing functions and regional marketing teams to share best practices and lessons learned to drive executional excellence surrounding emerging brand initiatives.
- Lead discovery phase of emerging brand initiatives that produces key insights and strategic implications.
- Develop integrated marketing strategy for emerging brand initiatives that provides key input to worldwide activations of emerging platforms.
Multi-Region Platform Campaign Development & Go-to-Market
- Lead cross-functional teams in planning, conceptualizing, and executing unified, multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Facilitate open communication and knowledge sharing across global marketing functions and regional marketing teams that are involved in integrated campaign development and execution.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across the marketing mix in the creation and execution of global integrated campaigns.
- Oversee campaign performance measurement using data-driven insights and optimize strategies to maximize impact and ROI.
Brand Innovation
- Lead the Global Emerging Platform Center of Excellence that drives evolution across the enterprise to keep the brand at the forefront of new spaces.
- Identify opportunities to innovate Visa’s marketing approach and drive improving initiative performance and effectiveness across regions.
- Collaborate with regional marketing teams on learning agenda in emerging platforms that drives brand innovation and leadership for Visa in culture.
Budget and Personnel Oversight
- Manage budget allocated to emerging brand initiatives in close collaboration with global functions and regional brand leadership.
- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to direct reports and other members of Global Integrated marketing team to drive effectiveness, cross collaboration, and innovation.
- Contribute to a data-driven, customer-centric culture focused on clear communication within the integrated marketing organization.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
- 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
- Thought leader of effective creative, brand development, and multichannel marketing campaigns, with a focus as an integrated marketing leader.
- Proven track record developing and executing high-impact, insight-driven, integrated marketing strategies that drive step-change business results.
- Demonstrated success leading through ambiguous problem spaces in pursuit of clarity and concrete outcomes.
- Experience building brands through initiatives within emerging spaces (e.g., gaming, music, entertainment).
- Strong analytical abilities to translate data into actionable insights that optimize marketing performance.
- Proven ability to manage teams, the work, and influence outcomes in highly matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders.
- Role models and influences aspirational behaviors of leading courageously, obsessing about customers, collaborating as one Visa, and executing with excellence.
- Strong executive presence with highly effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present with impact.

Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 173,400.00 to 271,050.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
