Job Description

For accessibility candidates, we are looking for experience in WCAG 2.0/2.1/2.2 website/app, mobile web, document, and native mobile testing & analysis to consult with teams working to make accessible internal and consumer-facing payment tools and applications. These roles will provide accessibility support for product development teams and will test, solve, and consult on accessibility issues at all stages of the lifecycle using the company-wide internal standard for accessibility compliance, the Visa Global Accessibility Requirements (VGAR).

Exercises independent judgment balanced with direction from supervisor. Will need to collaborate with and influence staff as a natural extension of working to design, implement, and deliver accessible solutions.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

  • Essential Functions 

  • Test and analyze existing web and mobile applications for accessibility issues and work with developers and designers to define and implement solutions.

  • Work with product owners to help ensure requirements and stories fully represent users with disabilities.

  • Work with designers and developers to ensure designs and pre-development technical decisions will produce accessible products.

  • Work with QA staff to ensure they are following accessibility test plans and catching all issues.

  • Work with team management to define and implement a plan to grow the team’s accessibility maturity over time.

  • Support accessibility knowledge base and company-wide accessibility requirements.

  • Conduct in-person and virtual trainings, produce content for trainings.

  • Work with diverse and distributed team in fast paced environment with quick iterative cycles.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.​

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 6 months of work experience or a Bachelor's Degree


Preferred Qualifications
2 or more years of work experience

2 years of relevant experience with bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 1 years with Master’s degree, demonstrable expertise in accessibility (Section 508/WCAG) analysis, design, and testing as well as working with teams to bring about improvements in process and effectiveness.
Experience in WCAG 2.0/2.1/2.2, Section 508, ADA, other accessibility laws and standards.

Experience working with supervisor in helping teams evolve from no accessibility to strong, sustained accessibility built into their structure, process, culture, and products.

Experience in ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications).

Experience using common accessibility testing tools as well as Screen Readers such as JAWS, NVDA, Talkback & Voiceover.

Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, iOS, and Android development.

Experience with web and native mobile accessibility.

Passion for making websites and applications accessible to all users

Thorough, methodical, and creative with extreme attention to detail.

Experience in time management as well as working & finding answers to questions independently with direction from supervisor.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills, must be able to communicate clearly, be easily understood, and build rapport with others easily.

Fully fluent in English and able to understand and be easily understood when communicating.

Understanding of SDLC and the technical and business challenges that come with development of a product.

Understanding of UX and the design techniques and principals involved in the production of conceptual prototypes and wireframes.

A team player who is happy sharing credit, and looks to succeed by raising up one’s colleagues, putting the success of Visa ahead of personal gain.

Proven ability to thrive in a virtual team environment.

Experience working with complex business and functional requirements.

Experience in Dev, QA, or technical/management consulting a plus.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 79,000.00 to 111,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
