Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the assigned revenue targets.

  • Identify and size the opportunity for value propositions that leverage core product capabilities including but not limited to topics such as, Pay-by-bank, Digital Identity, and other topics leveraging Open Banking capabilities. 

  • Account management of key clients such as payment providers, enablers, platforms, marketplaces, and ecommerce businesses.

  • Identify and prioritize clients, third parties and segments for acceptance expansion by assessing revenue opportunity and strategic importance, leveraging Visa solutions.

  • Drive revenue generating outcomes: 

    • Consultatively identifying and understanding client business needs and crafting solutions that grow the business and increase satisfaction with Visa products and services.

    • Responsible to build a deal pipeline to generate net new services revenues.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Tink, Merchants and Acquirers, Visa Consulting & Analytics, Product, Visa Acceptance Platform, etc.) to execute and drive sales opportunities.

  • Understand and enhance deal commercials to align investment and target the right opportunities.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

The role of Senior Business Development Manager Acceptance is a key role enabling our partners in growing the business and driving acceptance in the Netherlands. Central to this role is working with merchants, payment providers and fintechs to drive new business with Visa’s Open Banking capabilities across the Central Europe region, with a main focus on the Netherlands.

Driving new acceptance is a key pillar in Visa growth strategy and the ideal candidate will bring passion for and interest in payments, client-facing skills and presence, and will enjoy working collaboratively across functions and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
 

  • Substantial business experience managing strategic relationships with financial services and technology solution providers.
  • Experience in payments industry, specifically with a track record in developing client relationships and sales partnerships.
  • Experience in driving new business using an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with a partner’s executives to present Visa’s strategic vision and negotiate effectively on behalf of the company.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across functions and geographies in a complex matrix environment.
  • Be open minded and excited about the future technologies, willing to learn and work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Ability to develop strong internal and external relationships ensuring uptake and delivery of Visa solutions.
  • Effective influencing and communication skills to secure buy-in from clients and stakeholders .
  • Highly skilled communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Educated to degree level or hold equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English.
