Job Description

Japan Marketing Description

The marketing team is responsible for promoting and selling Visa’s products or services throughout various marketing channels. This can include tasks such as market research, advertising, promotion, sponsorship, cross border marketing, event planning, VIK and client support.

The goal of the marketing team is to increase brand awareness and usage, and to drive customer engagement, acquisition, and ultimately, business. This can be accomplished through a variety of strategy and tactics, including creating and distributing content, launching advertising campaigns, building partnerships with influencers, merchant partners and clients, and using data analytics to track and measure the success of efforts.

The Consumer Product Marketer role is pivotal for Visa, especially for our strategic goals in the Japan market. This position will manage vital consumer marketing activities under the direct supervision of the Head of Marketing. The responsibilities associated with this role are directly connected to Visa's aim of evolving and maintaining the relevance of our brand, particularly among newer generations such as Gen Z.

  • Develops integrated B2C and B2B programs in collaboration with the Head of Consumer Marketing.
  • Creates and implements marketing strategies to enhance sales, brand awareness, and customer engagement.
  • Collaborates with multiple functions to co-create and implement marketing plans with key clients, facilitating partner marketing and marketing services.
  • Engages with other marketing team members, including those in Singapore, to optimally utilize the organization's assets and resources.
  • Liaises with advertising, media, digital, and promotion agencies to ensure successful project delivery. Maintains positive agency relationships founded on inspiration, respect, and shared passion.
  • Manages administrative tasks related to consumer marketing project management and marketing services, ensuring compliance with the organization's policy and process.
  • Contributes to evaluating the effectiveness of marketing programs to identify areas for improvement.
  • Serve as a brand & marketing steward, ensuring the brand is always presented in alignment with its vision and purpose.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • 5 years+ of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • High proficiency in Japanese equivalent to a first language speaker, along with business-level proficiency in English
  • Has experience executing successful social/digital marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to think both strategically and creatively, while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and apply it to marketing and communication strategies to achieve desired results and business objectives.
  • Has a strong understanding of the marketing landscape and trends, including digital marketing, and has the willingness and passion to stay updated with industry trends, consumer behavior.
  • Has high responsibility and accountability for the successful completion of projects, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Be open to admitting and learning from mistakes, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
