Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Director, Head of Sales Engineering Value Added Services - Issuing Solutions to lead our sales engineering team across the breadth of Visa's VAS Issuing Solutions. The successful candidate is a leader and passionate about Visa’s efforts to expand, innovate, and implement the solutions we deliver to Issuers. 

This is a team lead role, managing Sales engineers across Europe that should be able to support sales efforts with technical competence across the full range of VAS solutions for Issuers, from Risk and Identity Solutions such as Visa Consumer Authentication Service (VCAS), Visa Advanced Authorization, Visa Risk Manager, RTP Prevent and a growing number of new scheme and rail agnostic risk solutions all the way to other  Value Added Solutions such as Pismo, Tink, Visa Stop Payment Services, Visa Transaction Controls etc.

As a leader in the larger Value-Added Services Sales function, this role requires strong leadership and collaboration skills to work with a wide range of cross-functional teams, including Generalist Sellers, Sales Operations, Product, Strategy, Client Services, Digital Partners, and Marketing. Moderate to extensive travel may be required for client meetings, conferences, and partner events.

The ideal candidate has both previous experience in managing solutions engineering teams and deep technical expertise in at least one of the following areas: risk and identity solutions, card processing, core banking, open banking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Sales Engineers that serve as the primary technical relationship liaison with Issuers for VAS Issuing Solutions during the sales process, either net-new sales or upsell.
  • Support the team to leverage domain expertise, technical acumen, and operational knowledge to provide high-value solutions that enhance our clients' customers’ satisfaction and enable them to accelerate their business growth.
  • Understand clients’ needs and desired business outcomes and act as their technical champion within Visa, while remaining mindful of competing product development priorities and backlogs
  • Effectively manage client expectations and delivery timeline commitments.
  • Act as an organizational leader across multiple functional areas to structure and manage successful client engagements that utilize all areas of Visa expertise.
  • Facilitate coordination with core product teams to prioritize product changes and feature enhancements, identifying both critical paths and risks.
  • Collaborate with clients to define unique customer value propositions and identify opportunities to facilitate proof-of-concept/prototype development opportunities.
  • Ensure that the team can manage broad client engagements, provide education and insight into the various Visa platforms, participate actively in client governance (e.g. – Quarterly Business Reviews), and provide trusted advice.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise across Issuing Solutions products and capabilities with a detailed understanding and appreciation for overall strategic context, priorities, and revenue goals.
  • Collaborate with Sales on both deal structuring and a holistic definition of the Visa value proposition that addresses clients’ most challenging problems.
  • Act as a strong leader, providing feedback and active sales coaching

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs. Visa Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) is applicable for this role.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
