Job Description

Based in Singapore, the Director of Digital and Fintech Partnerships will lead Visa’s relationship with several high profile, high growth fintech partners across the region. This person has end-to-end responsibility for these relationships, including commercial ownership, account planning, product sales, issue management, as well as supporting their expansion into new markets.

These relationships are highly complex: the clients themselves typically play multiple roles across several lines-of-business: they could be one or more of Issuer, Merchant, Acquirer, Payment Facilitator, Digital Wallet, or Digital Bank.  

Accordingly, this person needs to be a payments expert AND a master ‘connector’. They need to work closely with Visa’s Product and Digital Solutions teams, Data Products SMEs, Merchant and Acquiring SME’s, Risk experts, Finance partners and Client Services staff, in order to ensure that Visa is maximizing the value from these partnerships. Given they are typically highly complex, strategic and cross-functional in nature, we are looking for someone who is in equal parts (a) commercial, (b) solution orientated, and (c) partner-focused.

The Director will be supported by an Analyst to assist with the day-to-day execution of account plan activities.

The successful candidate will be an experienced account management professional, and fintech sector expert, that is capable of developing and managing Visa’s key strategic partners in this segment. The role requires a number of primary leadership responsibilities:

Engaging with the largest global Fintech Partners in AP with Pan-AP and inter-regional expansion plans Managing the rollout of global partners into Asia Pacific Developing scalable programs that deliver to needs of various stakeholders in value chain Driving adoption & upsell of Visa capabilities at a regional and market level Developing capabilities in country teams, including digital narrative, sales tools & deal structures  Numerate and be able to build strong commercial partnership models

The position requires a structured and programmatic approach to building and broadening relationships with our partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute against account plans focused on maximizing value to Visa, through a client portfolio that contributes approximately USD $80m in Net Revenue and >$10Bn in PV

  • Manage the executive relationships within the partners, including Founder/CEO-level relationships

  • Manage the executive leadership within Visa (including functional heads, Country Managers) to ensure successful partnership outcomes

  • Lead program delivery of agreed partnership opportunities, across several markets

  • Proactively identify and solve complex problems that impact the management, relationship and direction of the business

  • Lead the development of proposals by working with various internal stakeholders and negotiate contractual relationships with strategic partners

  • Support the Digital Partnerships executive team in developing the overall group strategy

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of business management or other related discipline, post graduate qualifications preferred
  • 12 years relevant industry experience with a minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in the sector, with related business development or strategy consulting roles
  • Outstanding executive communications skills as a spokesperson for fintech, innovation & strategic partnerships within Visa and across the industry
  • Strategic, analytical thinker who consistently challenges the status quo and constructively challenges the team to aim for higher ground; change agent
  • Vision and passion for our business, with high energy and intelligence
  • Personal commitment to digital partnership discipline and best practices
  • Structured in your approach, with a high attention to detail and quality on both internal team work and external products brought to market
  • Hands-on, entrepreneurial and nimble, while also able to navigate a globally matrixed environment
  • Experience working across multiple markets in the Asia Pacific region.
