Visa Debit is the highest revenue generating core product for Visa, driving 20%+ of Visa’s global revenue. This team is responsible for protecting and growing US debit and prepaid volumes, and growing card acceptance and usage (including credit) in underpenetrated and emerging merchant categories (cash, check and ACH heavy segments).

The U.S. Debit Product and Growth Initiatives (aka Expand Access) team reports into the head of Consumer Core Products. The team is focused on 3 key areas:

  1. U.S. Debit product management and business planning/operations
  2. Debit product performance optimization
  3. Growth initiatives to increase acceptance and usage of credit, debit, and prepaid cards in underpenetrated and emerging merchant segments. 

The priorities for fiscal year 2024 are monitoring and mitigating impacts of Regulation II changes, a federal regulation that impacts U.S. debit and prepaid landscape and driving initiatives that accelerate Visa card payments in high opportunity segments.

Some job duties and projects could include:  

  • Debit Payment Volume Tracking – Produce daily/weekly reports in Excel and Tableau, identify anomalies, investigate merchant behavior changes root cause, and craft the associated executive summary briefing materials.
  • Create and Execute Evaluation Framework - Evaluate large ticket segments using Excel model to dimension impact of various initiative constructs, including sensitivity analysis and stakeholder impact assessments. Craft a whitepaper that outlines strategies and tactics that could increase card usage in large ticket segments with projected incremental revenue for next 5 years.

Past projects completed by interns include:

  •  Interlink Network CNP Expansion PMO – Manage project plan, issues list, and cross-functional working sessions from requirements definition through development and client implementation phases. Engage cross-functional teams and clients on issue research and resolution, write rules, technical specifications, best practice documents, and FAQ.
  • Create Product Dashboard – Revise, enhance, and automate monthly product performance dashboard to track key metrics relative to targets and identify trends by segment.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications 

  • Pursuing MBA degree or relevant graduate degree program with 2 years relevant work experience 
  • Graduating between January 2025-August 2025 
  • Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications that demonstrate professional judgment. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Work experience in Strategy, Finance, Business Analytics or related field
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in financial modeling and business case development
  • Excellent story-telling and presentation skills with ability to articulate findings in action-driven recommendations
  • Knowledge of the product development lifecycle
  • Experience in Fortune 1000 technology, financial services or manufacturing firm is a plus
  • Strong proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, SQL, and Tableau
  • The ability to take on challenges and address problems  head-on.
  • Strong ability to collaborate 
  • Highly driven, resourceful and results oriented 
  • Good team player and excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity 

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $53.00/hour USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
