Job Description
Visa Direct is a payment service that Visa provides to clients (sending and receiving financial institutions, processors, merchants and service providers) to facilitate fund transfers/disbursements to accounts around the world using push payment technology. Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person-to-person (P2P) transfer, person to micro-business transfer (e.g. payouts to shared economy providers), funds disbursement (e.g. insurance claim disbursements), and more. The push payments market is estimated to be more than 90 Trillion of payment volume globally. The candidate will support the secure and sustained growth of our Visa Direct product and our clients’ programs as a risk subject matter expert focused on this payment flow and its unfolding use cases. The candidate will work in close engagement with both the Global and North America Visa Direct Ecosystem Readiness team. The NA Visa Direct Risk Advisor plays a lead role to support program launches of clients to ensure successful activation and growth in NA. In addition, they will champion the exchange of Risk knowledge between the two organizations and share performance education within NA Risk and Risk Products.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Support of clients during launch of their Visa Direct programs
- Provide SME support for the development of tools and collateral to monitor performance and engage with stakeholders
- Engage with product to ensure new risks are identified and addressed during use case development and program launches.
Key Accountabilities · Regional SME for Visa Direct Risk
- Perform education sessions and support to Risk Managers
- Consolidate needs and learnings from client engagements and communicate to Risk Product and VD Product
- Refine the VD Risk Reduction Framework as needed o Support the development of tools and materials to monitor performance and engage with key clients
- Understand the complexity for cross boarder money movements
- Monitor and communicate performance with product stakeholders and clients, with specific focus on new fintech launches and strategic client programs within NA
- Advise on best practices to address risk and performance opportunities and work with product and clients to address any issues that may arise
- Influence clients to establish best in class fraud prevention practices
- Engage with issuers’ risk teams to educate and influence fraud prevention and authorization practices
- Build and maintain risk storylines, engagement plans and content for product and use cases
- Work with analytics teams to continually improve reporting functionality to drive actionable insights
- Educate partners on fraud trends relevant to Visa Direct
- Engage with product to ensure ecosystem risk is addressed during use case development and program launches
- Drive adoption of secure technologies and VAS
- Conduct industry research on payment security trends to drive strong performance
- Analyze market needs for future risk mitigation tools and enhancements and partner with local and global teams to develop new risk products and capabilities as necessary
- Participate in 3rd party product/service reviews
- Represent VD Risk when needed at steerco and MBR meetings
This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- 2 years in engaging and advising clients to adopt risk management best practices that will accelerate the sound growth of their payment business
- Strong ability to communicate, collaborate and influence within a global, matrix organization
- Deep knowledge of the payments industry and the major trends affecting our stakeholders, including regulatory, market environment, competitive landscape, and technology
- Established reputation for building peer like relationships with senior client and partner leaders and being able to communicate and influence other teams
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives at once in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment, while demonstrating grace under pressure and comfort with problem solving ambiguity
- Intellectual curiosity with the ability to quickly grasp new payment services and develop corresponding risk and fraud management best practices for client
- A proven track record of success and accountability in fast-paced environments with demanding timelines
- Demonstrated thought leadership and the ability to think creatively to solve

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 132,200o 171,900 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
