AI & Data Innovation Division

  • The newly established AI & Data Innovation division within the Global Data Office is unleashing new opportunities at Visa by developing and driving the business strategy for AI / Gen AI and Data Innovation, driving the development of novel AI / GenAI / Data Science technologies, leading data product development to create value for clients and partners, and driving innovative application of AI / data science to solve business problems among other Innovation activities.
  • The AI & Data Innovation division includes the following teams: Visa Functions and Products Data Science, Visa Data Products (Visa Analytics Platform, Merchant & Government Solutions), Data Science Innovation, AI Governance, AI Knowledge Stewardship, AI Project Management Office, and Innovation Initiatives.

Job Description

  • To enable our vision for AI and help us deliver on our bold ambitions, we are creating a new AI Governance team that will be led by a new Sr. Director, Global Head of AI Governance, reporting to the VP, Global AI and Data Innovation. This leader will be accountable for creating and owning Visa's entire AI Governance policies and processes, and for recruiting the new AI Governance team.
  • The leader taking on this role will join as a member of the AI and Data Innovation leadership team, and will be a critical catalyst for data innovation, maximizing the impact from AI and Gen AI technologies and capabilities in a way that aligns with our Data and AI principles.
  • This role will have high visibility with the most senior leadership of Visa, and the AI Governance team will work closely with Visa’s functions in Privacy, Legal, Risk, Data Use, Technology, Product Delivery, Cybersecurity among others.

  • Essential Responsibilities for this Job
    • Create a world-class team of 3-5 engaged professionals excited to write the next chapter of Visa’s AI & Data Innovation.
    • Be the leader and single point of contact for AI Governance at Visa.
    • Develop, own and update Visa’s AI Governance framework, policies, processes (Responsible AI Launchpad, AI change management request form, etc.) in close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure integration with existing product development and risk management processes and facilitate updates of those existing processes where appropriate.
    • Ensure the implementation of processes in a scalable way through risk management and process automation technology solutions.
    • Monitor and understand regulatory landscape together with our legal, privacy, and risk teams, and introduce changes to AI Governance artifacts as needed.
    • Monitor inventory of AI systems in development and production.
    • Own, update and institutionalize Visa’s AI Principles.
    • Work together with AI sponsors, developers and cross-functional stakeholders to help maximize value creation through AI in the right way, balancing innovation, regulatory guidance and consumer risks.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite of Office Tools
  • Advanced knowledge of AI / Generative AI / Data Science
  • Advanced project management skills with the use of Project Management software
  • Curious and lifelong learner who keeps us to date on emerging trends and technology
  • Successful track record of operating cross-functionally, ideally in a federated enterprise design
  • Proven ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects with evolving requirements
  • Team player possessing a strong drive to add value to the business direction

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 205,800.00 to 283,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
