Job Description

The Head of Data Analytics and Insights will be responsible for leveraging data-driven insights and market research to inform decision-making across the organization. Head of Insights and Data Analytics will lead a team of skilled analysts and subject matter experts, ensuring the development and execution of comprehensive consumer research and analytics strategies that drive business growth and enhance customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong blend of analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills. Additionally, the proven ability to identify, develop and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiencies, streamline processes and programs and drive continuous improvement. This includes the development and implementation of a comprehensive data analysis roadmap in support of sales strategies to drive growth in bookings and revenue as well as address key business questions objectives and enables critical decision-making processes.

This is a senior leadership position, and as such, the candidate must possess strong commercial and operational acumen, coupled with leadership skills and payments industry knowledge to drive the best outcome for the business. This role reports to the Global Vice President of VAS Commercial Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to define the insights and analytics vision, goals, and strategies that align with the company's objectives.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data analytics and data science roadmap, ensuring it addresses key business questions and supports critical decision-making processes. 
  • Oversee the design, execution, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative research initiatives, including requirements gathering, surveys, focus groups, market research, to gain deep insights into market centricities, adoption rates, and trends.
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques to interpret data, identify patterns, and extract actionable insights that inform sales and marketing strategies, product development, and customer experience enhancement initiatives.
  • Lead efforts to monitor and analyze both internal and external trends of existing customers and greenfield addressable market inclusive of industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and threats, providing recommendations for business strategy adjustments.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging market research techniques, tools, and industry best practices, implementing innovative approaches to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of market (client/customer) insights initiatives.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team of insights and analytics professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Marketing, Product Development, Sales, and Operations, to ensure insights are effectively integrated into business strategies and decision-making processes.
  • Present research findings and insights to key stakeholders, including executive leadership, effectively communicating complex concepts in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing guidance and strategic recommendations based on insights and market research findings.
  • Leverage Agile, Lean Six Sigma and other relevant frameworks in the development and execution of insights and analysis initiatives.
  • Develop initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders at various levels of the organization to ensure buy-in and awareness of initiatives as well as to promote and foster transformational change.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of implemented analysis that have been leveraged in sales acceleration and sales strategies improvement initiatives, progress, and outcomes.
  • Partner with Visa Value Added Services (VAS) lines of business, as well as other VAS business partners to engage and organize subject matter experts and cross-functional groups to collect inputs and salient information.
  • Work collaboratively with all Sales leaders and Commercial Operations leaders on strategic growth programs.  Lead and manage the progress reporting efforts related to these programs.
  • Support Business Innovation, Deal Management, Sales Operations, SIP, BI, Sales Enablement, Sales Strategy and Acceleration and Sales GTM teams through key data analysis and insight initiatives and priorities.
  • Build and maintain a team culture which is cohesive and accountable, ensure there is a consistent focus on talent management, development and build impactful succession plans.
  • Maintain an ongoing focus on employee engagement levels, putting action plans into place to address areas of concern and lead cross functional working groups where required.
  • Provides clarity on role and responsibilities, performance measures and key success areas. Ensures performance goals set for the team are aligned with SMART principles and reflect functional strategy.
  • Communicates effectively and builds rapport with team members through regular dialogue and coaching.
  • Builds momentum and creates energy to achieve the team vision and mission. Articulates progress against strategy on a regular basis.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

BASIC Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

PREFERRED Qualifications:
15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
• Strong expertise in a wide range of research methodologies and statistical analysis techniques, as well as experience with data visualization tools and software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent fields.
• 15+ years of experience in commercial and operations management
• Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Experience of leading high performing teams, driving thought leadership and continuous improvements with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at various levels.
• Significant experience in financial management and strategic sales operations planning in a B2B high-growth sales environment.
• Significant experience of using Tableau, BI and MSD CRM, including production of reporting and analysis
• Experience of Sales Effectiveness Models
• Excellent verbal, analytical and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills
• Must possess 'can do' attitude and willingness to work in a new initiative environment.
• Significant experience of working within businesses who have complex multi-region operations with aggressive growth plans.
• Must be able to skillfully prioritize and manage concurrent projects and issues.
• Experience in working with cross-functional/cross-departmental and virtual teams at a senior level.
• Self-starter with exemplary organization and resolution management skills
• Ability to mentor a team of business analysts, business intelligence professionals and data scientists.
• Knowledge of payments industry preferred.
• Ability to influence key stakeholders and partners throughout the business.
• Outstanding attention to detail is required.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 163,600.00 to 225,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
