Job Description

As the Vice President of Consumer Products for Latin America and Caribbean (LAC), you will be responsible for leading and managing Visa’s core products strategies, product development, enablement, and solutions delivery. Your team will work closely with global and market-based Product teams to develop the right products and value propositions for a range of priority segments defined by the business across the region.

Success in the role is also aligned closely to the regional scorecard, including revenue & profitability outcomes. The lead will also play a key role in transforming the way we work, moving from a traditional product focus to a solutions-centric mindset – this will demand a strong focus on talent, strategic workforce planning and a critical market-driven and UX focus as we architect new solutions and Customer Value Propositions with clients and partners. 

Role reports to the LAC Products and Innovation SVP and is part of the LAC Products Regional Leadership team.

 

Responsibilities,

  • Lead and manage Visa’s core products (Credit, Debit, Prepaid) strategies, product development, enablement, and solutions delivery in the Latin America and Caribbean region.
  • Leverage technology and Visa capabilities, data, market research and partnership options to develop, refine, and execute Visa’s value proposition for these products. Lead the product team to deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers and partners.
  • Role-modelling a digital-first mindset to identify and bring to life fit for purpose solutions that leverage innovation leadership, Visa platforms and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products are launched successfully and perform optimally.
  • Monitor product performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to drive product growth.
  • Manage planning, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Assume responsibility for performance & management of multi-million dollar contracts with strategic partners in support of benefit platforms such as insurance, concierge, airport lounge access, travel, dining, entertainment, etc.
  • Work effectively across matrixed organizations, define and articulate product requirements, develop and champion changes to rules, policies, and programs in order to align Visa client needs with the successful ongoing growth of the network.
  • Engage closely with local, regional, and global teams, to influence development and roadmap of solutions for the region, and support execution at market level.
  • Exhibit leadership behaviors in respect of being an advocate of Visa’s solutions and initiatives in the industry, including preparation and delivery of ‘the Visa narrative’ at forums, conferences and customer events.
  • Play a major role in driving commercialization outcomes, including client-facing engagements in partnership with market Solutions teams.
  • Focus on people development and maintain a strong focus on ensuring our culture, place of work, and collaboration opportunities provide employees the opportunity for personal and professional development.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
•12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
•15 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD)
•The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of retail banking, lending, transaction account management, channel management, and digital customer experience.
•Strong understanding of the payments landscape and trends in LAC.
•He/she should have product development, UX and product management experience with strong awareness of trends in consumer payment preferences and technology usage.
•Proven track record of strong people management outcomes and be recognized as a leader in prior roles.
•Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
•Disciplined and tolerant of ambiguity, with the maturity and capability to interact and influence across multiple organizational levels internal and external to Visa.
•Strong analytical, quantitative, commercial, project management and interpersonal skills.
•Negotiation skills with proven track record of achieving results.
•Diversity of thought and experience, continually seeks new perspectives and feedback, takes an inclusive approach
•High personal standards of ethics and integrity towards employees, stakeholders, and customers.

•Fluency in English and Spanish is required, Portuguese is a plus.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 194,700.00 to 267,800.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
