Job Description
The Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) Program and Business Management team ensures high quality results, consistent project / program / business management processes, governance, and coordination. Additionally, the team drives agility / performance efficiencies by managing processes including portfolio, budget, workforce, and communications management.
Our Technical Program Managers in Commercial and Money Movement Solutions (CMS) division are highly visible leaders, building bridges across Visa to ensure projects are effectively developed, integrated, and deployed with quality and on time delivery into our production systems.
VCS team employs agile delivery and moving toward SAFe. This is a technical Program management role that would provide coaching to other team members on SAFe framework, Agile practices, SDLC, compliance activities and process improvements. This position is based in Warsaw, Poland.
A strong candidate will have a solid experience with Agile methodology, understanding technology / product program management, release management, cross-functional team leadership, as well as superb skills in communications, business analysis, problem-solving, cross-team coordination, communications, processes, and change management. The ideal candidate is not just a facilitator or project plan tracker but ensures things get done. The ideal candidate must have a drive and a make it happen attitude.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for managing multiple Scrum Teams.
Demonstrate the skills of having worked as a Scrum Master managing Scrum Teams in a technology domain – primarily application development. Must be well versed with Agile/Scrum methodologies in project execution.
Work with Product Owners to develop program roadmaps which align to business objectives and sequenced by priority and resource availability.
Ensure the program and projects follow Visa Agile Management Methodology and Key Controls and that accurate and timely information is reported regularly on program progress and financial status.
Provide timely and accurate reporting to all stakeholders, hold regular cross organizational management briefings.
Lead boldly and utilize hard and soft skills to influence participants of all levels towards the common goal.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues.
Identify and manage dependencies and impacts.
Maintain meticulous records of issues, risks, decisions, schedules.
Drive improvement in overall efficiency and reliability of our release and deployment processes.
Facilitate solutions for identified security vulnerabilities and track to timely remediation.
Exercise independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor
Conversant with the use of tools in managing projects that have adopted Agile/Scrum. This could be JIRA / Rally or other Microsoft based tools.
Must possess effective communication skills to partner with technology and product teams in Scrum master role.
Must be delivery focused in managing scrum teams and be able to report on risks based on execution progress, resource capacity and work estimates.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership / site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Computer Science or a related technical discipline. Advanced degree is a plus
- Scrum Master certification is a must
- SAFe certification is a plus
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA)
- •5+ years of experience, as Scrum Master, Technical Project / Program Manager working with technical teams developing Enterprise class software applications.
- Excellent analytical skills and enthusiastic problem solver
- Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles.
- Strong knowledge of Agile Management Methodology and SDLC principles and practices and agile frameworks.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. A demonstrated ability to effectively document and communicate technical and business issues and solutions to appropriate organizational levels.
- Ability to work with minimal guidance. Ability to prioritize work, multi-task and manage their time.
- Ability to thoroughly understand complex business and technical issues and influence decision making at all levels of the organization without formal reporting structure authority.
