Job Description

Visas Corporate IT (CIT) organization is a key component of Visas Technology and Operations function made up of several teams that all work towards the same goal... to build, operate, and maintain the corporate and infrastructure necessary to enable a highly connected and collaborative workforce that helps power Visas business.

The CIT Program Management and Business Operations (PMBO) team has two major functions within the organization… a centralized PMO and a Business Management team. This organization is responsible for facilitating consistent processes, best practices and governance across Corporate IT, providing portfolio, budget, workforce, security, and communications management.

The PMBO team is seeking a director to lead a centralized team of program managers and business analysts to manage end-user focused initiatives delivered by technology peers in Corporate IT. This team is responsible for procuring the hardware and software assets needed by our 27,000+ global end users and ensuring timely delivery. A successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, grow and retain high-caliber talent and will have experience with purchasing, budgeting, project, program management, process development, optimization.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to a team of technical program, project managers and business analysts for the planning, execution and delivery of end user products
  • Manage the professional development and growth of direct reports with an emphasis on inclusion and continuous growth, including goal and performance management
  • Strong people management skills with demonstrated ability to grow and mentor a high performing team
  • Direct project portfolio activities, conduct reviews, and use strong technical and business acumen to manage risk and address escalated impediments
  • Identify and manage dependencies and impacts among programs and projects across the portfolio. Raise issues and risks and drive resolution or mitigation
  • Work with business and technology subject matter experts to define scope, create estimates, develop budgets and project plans, and produce documentation needed for funding approvals
  • Assist with user experience improvement activities related to End User customer satisfaction
  • Consolidate and manage all resource and project management estimates across the team
  • Budget management (forecasting, reconciliation, areas for opportunity, etc.) for a 20M + annual budget
  • Development of policies, standards, and metrics reporting in support of the delivery of the End User Operations organization, adhering to Visa’s Project Management Methodology (PMM) as appropriate, enforce consistency and standardized processes across the team
  • Ensure that all programs and projects are in compliance with Visa's Project Management Methodology and Key Controls and that accurate and timely information is collected and reported regularly on project portfolio progress and financial status

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Experience in a technology centric organization, with a concentration in project, program
  • Previous supply chain management experience preferred
  • Experience with vendor management with a focus on hardware, software agreements (e.g., Dell, Microsoft, etc.)
  • Customer Experience focused and Design Based thinking
  • Expertise in program, portfolio management with financial and budget management experience in a product delivery environment
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC principles and practices
  • Direct management of project, program managers and experience with coaching for success
  • Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills in a global environment with cross-functional teams
  • Must possess strong organizational and process management skills, ability to manage with influence in a highly matrixed environment
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills for effective communication with multiple organizational levels, including senior management
  • Strong leadership, enthusiasm, and accountability with high attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles
  • Entrepreneurial and flexible, strategic thinker who can balance strategy with detailed execution
  • Expert in the use of program and business management tools

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 159,200.00 to 207,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
