Job Description
The Senior Software Engineer for Learning Enablement Technology (LET) within Corporate IT will be instrumental in creating the future of Learning with Visa University. You will work on an evolving technology stack that supports scalable production, delivery and sales of Visa University’s learning products and subscriptions for Visa’s clients and other external learners. In this role, you will work with a global team and will own end-to-end development and support for a large portfolio consisting custom-built applications and multiple SaaS vendors.
This is a very hands-on individual contributor role in Austin, TX. Essential Functions:
- As a Visa Senior Software Engineer, you will build, integrate, and support lasting, scalable and secure solutions which deliver a delightful user experience, are resilient, and promote learning.
- Continue to learn about the industry, propose new learning and payments solutions to meet future needs.
- Adhere to SDLC governance framework.
- Develop new features for VisaUniversity.com and enhance other SaaS applications supporting Learning.
- Engage with product managers, design team, and cross-functional technology groups to ensure that the right learning solutions are available and accessible to our users around the world.
- Design and own integrations for SaaS and hosted applications.
- Produce development/ support artifacts and participate in code-reviews.
- Ensure highest level of Engineering and Operational Excellence following CRE (Corporate Reliability Engineering) principles.
- Serve as a release manager and provide on-call support for high priority incidents.
- Participate in vendor assessments and selection.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 3 set days a week Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thrusdays (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Web application development experience in C# .NET Core.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- Hands-on experience in software design, development, and deployment for highly available and highly resilient enterprise solutions.
- Primary focus is backend development, but full stack experience highly preferred.
- Passionate about clean code, clean architecture, code quality, software design principles, code governance, managing technical debt, Operations excellence principles.
- Hands-on experience with modern web UI frameworks, .NET core, SQL and NoSQL databases, and other modern open-source platforms and technologies.

Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 102,300.00 to 130,500.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
