What’s it all about?
The selected individual will join the OVN Development team, a group dedicated to crafting the future of payment applications for Visa using leading-edge technologies. They should be a self-motivated and globally-minded professional who can operate effectively with minimal supervision. The ability to adapt and switch tasks based on the team's requirements is a must.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

- We are seeking an accomplished software engineer eager to contribute to an agile, cross-functional team that merges development, testing/QA, and design/analysis skills. The team is currently tasked with constructing a crucial component of the Authorisation application, an exciting, long-term commitment that involves the use of Go, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and NoSQL databases within a micro-services architecture.
- The ideal candidate will have practical experience with few of these technologies, deep expertise in one or more, and a willingness to expand their knowledge. As the team's scope may broaden to encompass more products and technologies, flexibility and an eagerness to learn are essential. Given the evolving nature of Go, we are open to candidates with a robust background in C, C++, or Java.
- The perfect candidate will have experience spanning the full range of software development activities, including requirements gathering, design, development, QA, and deployment. They should be comfortable managing multiple workstreams and providing guidance to agile team members, as well as shaping best practices and workflows within the team.
Requirements for this role include: - A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Significant relevant work experience, preferably in electronic payment systems development
- Prior experience in developing electronic payment systems is highly desirable.
