Job Description

We are looking for a passionate, authentic, and dynamic leader for Visa’s efforts to expand, innovate, and implement the solutions we deliver to merchants and their acquirers.  This is a global role, and is part of our Value-Add Services group. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter that can work independently in a fast paced, dynamic environment with limited supervision. He or she must be a fast learner, who can quickly absorb the nuances of Visa Acceptance Platform’s products and solutions.

Job Scope

  • Lead a team of professional services Solution Engineers that serve as the primary technical relationship liaison for Acceptance Solutions’ ISVs, PSPs, Financial Institutions, and merchants.

  • Leverage payment domain expertise, technical acumen, and operational knowledge to provide high-value solutions that enhance our clients customers’ satification and enable them to accelerate their business growth.

  • Understand clients’ needs and desired business outcomes in order to act to act as their technical champion within Visa, while remaining mindful of competing product development priorities and backlogs, in order to effectively manage client expectations and delivery timeline commitments. 

  • Act as an organizational leader across multiple functional areas to structure and manage successful client engagements that utilize all areas of Visa expertise.

  • Facilitate coordination with core product teams to prioritize product changes and feature enhancements, identifying both critical paths and risks. 

  • Collaborate with clients to define unique customer value propositions and identify opportunities to facilitate proof-of-concept/prototype development opportunities.

  • Manage broad client engagements, providing education and insight into the Visa Acceptance Platform Roadmap, participating actively in client governance (e.g. – QBRs), and providing trusted advice on all payment- and commerce-related decisions. 

  • Support regional professional services leaders and Visa’s sales organization in business development efforts by providing business analysis, technical product expertise, and creation of high-level solutioning.

  • Maintain a high level of expertise across Acceptance Solutions products and capabilities with a detailed understanding and appreciation for overall strategic context, priorities, and revenue goals.

  • Consult with client engineering teams on system design with an expert approach that is informed by payments standards and regulations (global and local) to ensure development efforts are aligned with their strategic objectives.

  • Facilitate client demonstrations of key Product capabilities – either near or at General Availability – in coordination with Visa Product leaders.

  • Collaborate with Sales on both deal structuring and a holistic definition of the Visa value proposition that addresses clients’ most challenging problems.

  • Proactively notify clients of business-critical problems/issues, and own all efforts to affect timely resolution while managing clear communications across organizations.

  • Stays abreast of evolving payment technologies, innovations and strategic partners that may accelerate speed-to-market, or enhance our existing products and solutions.

Qualities of a Successful Candidate:

  • Ability to work constructively in a cross-functional, initiative-based structure – leading large teams where there is not a direct reporting line 

  • Experience and comfort in engaging with both internal stakeholders and client executive teams

  • Demonstrated strong project management with an ability to appropriately phase and prioritize key underlying capabilities and activities 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to simplify and communicate complex technical issues to non-technical executives, sales teams and other stakeholders

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD); or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional:

Successful candidates should have a minimum of 10 or more years of business experience within a top tier payment gateway and/or Merchant Acquiring Institution

Bachelor’s degree required

Technical:

Advanced understanding of banking, payment card systems, payment methods and merchant acquiring and processing globally

Detailed and demonstrated experience in eCommerce, mobile and point-of-sale technologies

Highly preferred to have an understanding of Fraud Management, PCI, Product Management, and Marketing Principles

Current knowledge of emerging payment trends, players, and competitive landscape

Business:

Negotiation skills with a track record of achieving results

Strong analytical, quantitative, commercial, project management and interpersonal skills

Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to synthesize information into key messages appropriate for the audience

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 173,400.00 to 238,500.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
