Team Summary

You will be part of a team who are growing the capabilities and services of the Visa Spend Clarity for Enterprise (VSCE) product to deliver scalable and robust solutions that will take VSCE to more customers and users around the globe.

With an engineering group of nearly 300 people, VSCE is a key focus area with large growth ambitions driven by customer needs and a desire to innovate using modern cloud technologies.

You will be responsible for building our VSCE data delivery and billing systems and delivering to our platform modernisation strategy.

Role

A Senior Data Engineer is a pivotal role working within a cohesive cross-disciplined agile team on the product backlog.

In this role you will have a balance of supporting our existing data delivery and billing systems, delivering to our platform modernisation strategy, unplanned work, and contribution to critical initiatives. As a senior you will help drive improvements to processes and practices, providing leadership, mentoring and coaching others.

You will be working alongside engineers of intermediate and senior ability, as well as other agile team members and consultants.

This role requires a dedication to technical excellence, not only in writing code, but also in team-collaboration, testing, documentation. Good communication skills are essential, as well as a “can-do” attitude and willingness to work across various disciplines if required.

What you will need

Solid experience working with:

• Cloud environments – AWS preferred
• Data ETL/ELT transformation (e.g., Python, Spark, SSIS)
• Serverless technologies (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, DynamoDB)
• SQL (intermediate to advanced skills)
• Data modelling and design experience

Experience required in:

• Scripting (e.g., PowerShell)
• Data governance
• CI/CD
• Source control (e.g., Git, Subversion) and continuous integration (e.g., TeamCity)
• Performance monitoring and resolution - including building dashboards to monitor metrics

Desired experience in:

• .Net development
• Test automation

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
