Job Description

Visa is seeking a Senior Global Deals Analyst, to support the growth of Visa’s Commercial and Money Movement Solutions (CMS) business. The Global CMS Deals Team dual reports to the Head of Global Deals and the Global CMS CFO.

 

The scope and mandate for the Global CMS Deals team is:

  • To engage in all Global deals across Visa’s CMS business unit with an initial emphasis on Money Movement primarily on Visa Direct

  • The Global CMS Deals Team is the primary partner to sales teams in all aspects of deal development, deal approval, and deal lifecycle management, including thoughtful analysis and insightful deal review materials, accurate decision records and deal benchmarking.

  • Establish a center of excellence across three dimensions:

  • Deal evaluation criteria and review documentation

  • Calibrating and refining deal pricing, structure, and strategy

  • Supportive internal governance and expedient approval pathways

  • Support regional deal teams by sharing best practices and driving consistency in financial modelling, deal structure and deal strategy

  • Partner with account teams across all aspects of a prospective deal in an expedited and effective manner

 

As member of the Global CMS Deals Team, the Senior Global Deals Analyst will:

  • Partner with North America sales teams and liaise with internal functions including product, legal, risk, marketing, accounting, tax, treasury, etc. to build winning deal constructs and commercial proposals across the deal lifecycle: brainstorming, structuring, financial modelling, internal approval, negotiations, contract negotiation, with post-execution contract setup the final stage of support.

  • Core components of the role:

  • Build and own the deal P&L, including crafting and evaluating pricing and structure to optimize deal profitability.

  • Applying advanced financial acumen, best practices, and innovative problem-solving to enhance deal outcomes.

  • Gaining a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, market dynamics, and how Visa’s commitments compare to client commitments.

  • Aid in the evaluation and management of market risk and structural risk.

  • Contributing to the development of efficient, effective, and streamlined infrastructure and processes for managing and documenting the North America CMS deal approval process opportunities.

  • Overseeing the North America CMS deal approval information flow to ensure that approvals and feedback are appropriately documented and catalogued (approximately 10% of responsibilities).

 

Key Outcomes and Measures of Success:

The measures of success will be determined by the following:

  • Positive feedback from internal partners, reflecting successful collaboration and influence on deal strategies.

  • Mastery of technical skills in deal modeling, financial analysis, and creation of compelling presentation materials.

  • Demonstrated growth in strategic thinking, with a deep understanding of the company's business model and a comprehensive knowledge of the industry.

  • Ownership and development of intricate financial models and analyses to evaluate and optimize client incentive contract offers, producing various financial outputs as necessary (including P&L, projected cash flow, and amortization schedules).

  • Clear and persuasive presentation of documents that effectively communicate the merits and risks of deals to all levels of management.

  • Strong contribution to end-to-end deal process across deal pricing, reviews, approvals, and contracting and remove barriers to accelerate sales velocity and improve win rate.

  • Active support and enhancement of the Deal Center of Excellence, developing best-in-class deal constructs, win themes, pricing and negotiation strategies, pitch materials, and other deal assets that can be leveraged to effectively respond to future deal opportunities.

  • The ability to provide expert deal advisory support to the client-facing sales team on complex, multi-product deals, demonstrating a deep understanding of deal structures and strategies.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

 

This position can be based at our offices in San Francisco, CA or Miami, FL.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD (e.g. Master in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, or related field).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, paired with the ability to develop and implement deal strategies and financial presentations to drive successful and profitable business decision outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, quantitative, and qualitative skills, with proven experience in transforming raw data into actionable insights for deal strategy formulation and presenting these insights effectively to drive deal negotiations.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with a keen attention to detail. In particular, a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels, capable of summarizing and communicating key financial information and business strategy at an executive level.
  • Expertise in MS Excel to confidently use Macros, VB tool, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Skilled in thinking out of the box to create new presentations, reporting mechanisms and other documents.
  • Self-confident and self-driven, with the ability to collaborate or work independently with strong time management and ability to execute on multiple concurrent deliverables.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and assignments.
  • Experience in the Payments and Technology industry would be a plus.
  • U.S. Merchant Acceptance industry experience a plus.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 118,500.00 to 154,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
