Job Description

Are you excited to build the next generation of payment products and services? Do you want to convert your ideas into innovative solutions? Do you want to be a part of building and delivering solutions at global scale? Visa is looking for an accomplished Senior Product Manager to develop products for engagements with our clients and partners (Issuers, Financial Institutions, Acquirers, Big Techs and Merchants) and accelerate adoption of our services across multiple markets. 

Given we are a relatively new product and have a start-up mentality - you will own a wide breadth of responsibilities which include joint product solutioning with clients, developing new features, setting product prioritizations, and guiding client launches. This role reports to Director of Global Installments and Embedded Finance with high visibility and broad exposure to several cross-functional teams (country teams, Technology, Legal, Marketing and Client Services).

Overall, you will determine and build the right solutions that scale, solve for critical client needs, and manage large-scale launches. You should be a self-starter who can balance strategy with day-to-day running the business aspects, highly organized, and able to seamlessly prioritize a dynamic workload. This position will have great opportunities to shape and inspire next generation APMs from prestigious schools in Bay Area. 

Responsibilities

  • Product Solutioning Extraordinaire: You're not just solving problems you're crafting top-notch solutions. You'll take client requirements and friction points and transform them into enhancements that can be built effectively and efficiently. Your mission? To address pain points with executable business requirements and user stories, collaborating with our Product, Technology partners every release cycle.
  • Master of Features or Services: You'll own larger features or services, framing how they fit into our broader Installments strategy. This includes researching feasibility (e.g., legal, risk watchouts), assessing GTM implications and product dependencies, and determining core technical requirements.
  • Business Case Champion: You'll make compelling business cases for features, enhancements and engage in vibrant debates about the rationale. Your influence will extend beyond our internal roadmap to other Visa product roadmaps or client roadmaps.
  • Client Enablement Guru: Get ready to interact directly with clients and executive leadership, evangelizing our product solutions. You'll empower sales with engaging presentations that illustrate product benefits, business impact, and customer value. Plus, you'll collaborate with our Marketing team to craft captivating content.
  • GTM Strategy Conductor: In partnership with regional teams, you'll drive our GTM strategy. This includes identifying prospects, managing the overall pipeline, and planning for product launches per country.
  • Client Engagement and Solutioning Wizard: You'll support client engagements and solutioning workshops. This entails technical deep dives, advising clients on how they can optimally design their program, and fielding product questions.
  • Product Execution Overseer: You'll oversee product execution all the way through to implementation and end-consumer adoption/usage. You're not just part of the process - you're leading it from start to finish!

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
  • Broad knowledge in payments and digital transaction standards with ability to understand how use cases can be realized through cutting edge technology.
  • Strong technical aptitude with understanding of predominant payment schemes.
  • Prior experience in product management, strategy, and solution  commercialization
  • Experience working with digital partners and issuers/clients, including deep understanding of their business models


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
  • Tenacity and comfort with ambiguity is the most frequent skill tested on a day- to-day basis.
  • Proven leadership capabilities including strong thought leadership, effective decision making, and passion for driving payments innovation
  • High degree of comfort with communications across all levels. Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on client success.
  • Comfortable making decisions with limited data
  • Technical depth to breakdown technical complexity and drive problems to conclusion with technology partners as well as clients
  • Tenacity and ability to build from scratch and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Prior experience in Network or Issuer organizations

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 147,700.00 to 192,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
