Team Summary

Merchant Sales and Acquiring team drive growth in the acceptance of Visa payment products via relationships with prominent, selected key merchant clients and acquirers - specifically via business development and sales efforts aimed at ensuring transaction and payment volume growth and the development of Visa’s brand, reputation and business presence. The team is also responsible for understanding and communicating local market needs in order to effectively and efficiently define market specific strategies to support the Australia team to develop card acceptance capabilities and provide merchant solutions to meet the evolving payments ecosystem.

The Sales Operations function is responsible for the local development and implementation of Merchant Sales and Acquiring programs, acceptance products and services and business performance and MIS support for the team.

 

What a Sales Operations Analyst- Sales Operations does at Visa:

The individual will be assisting the Sales Operations Manager and the Account Executives within the MS&A team in signing new agreements as well as renewing existing partnerships. The role will be providing operational, analytical, and administrative support related to prospecting, proposal development, approval and contracting process necessary in signing partnership agreements with new and existing Merchants and Acquirers.

 

The ideal candidate is someone motivated and one that has experience in similar commercial roles such as Sales Operations or Sales Administration.  As Visa is a fast paced and evolving environment, the individual should be capable of operating with limited supervision, is a fast learner and one who can quickly absorb the nuances of Visa’s Acceptance business. Most importantly, Visa is looking for great leaders so the individual needs to be able to manage, lead and mentor individuals both within and outside their circle of influence.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Development and preparation of accurate and consistent deal proposals for Merchant and Acquirer prospects.

  • Manage an assigned pipeline and portfolio of Merchants and Acquirers and work with corresponding Account Executives directly managing these relationships.

  • Monitor and report on assigned portfolio of Merchants and Acquirers and ensure that contractual obligations are met.

  • Support the approval request process related to partnership and deal proposals and enable Account Executives to proceed with Merchant and Acquirer negotiations.

  • Work with Account Executives during the contract management process and assist in signing, sealing, and delivering partnership agreements.

  • Complete tracking, administration and monitoring of compliance to end to end process and assist with audit responsibilities.

  • Provide data & analytical support to Sales Ops Manager and MS&A AE’s

  • Deliver on new tasks, projects and initiatives that may be assigned from time-to-time.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience and demonstrated success in similar roles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong bias for action.
• Experience in merchant acquiring or payments Industry, understanding of the four party payments ecosystem and respective roles and responsibilities of each participant.
• Excellent verbal and written skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex technical and business issues and solutions to a variety of stakeholders.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills preferred.
• Strong analytical and data-mining skills with a savvy business acumen.
• Excellent time management, organization, and planning skills.
• Confidence and ability to influence and negotiate across all levels within the organization.
• Tertiary qualified is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
