Job Description
The SRE in the Operations Engineering team is responsible for finding the right way to support product engineering teams run robust applications in our environments. In this role, there will be a focus on systems operations, standard requests and unplanned troubleshooting. It will also include improvements and contributing to central initiatives. To succeed you will work closely with all members of the Reliability Stream to make visible and improve the reliability, availability, performance, monitoring and operations of Visa Spend Clarity for Enterprise.
You will be part of a critical global function within our Visa Spend Clarity for Enterprise product at a time we are modernising our platform by investing heavily in cloud infrastructure and automation that enables autonomous teams innovate and scale our product to a much wider range of issuers. This is a key focus area within Visa Operations and Infrastructure with large growth ambitions.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant work experience and a bachelor's degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD).
- Transactional systems e.g., banking, finance, telecommunications, etc.
- Working with enterprise distributed systems and SaaS applications.
- Knowledge of Microsoft stack (Windows Server, IIS, MS SQL Server).
- Scripted automation of processes with PowerShell and other orchestration tools.
- Understanding and experience in cloud technologies and platforms (preferably AWS).
- Supporting geographically disperse systems across multiple time zones.
- Building and running internal platforms with a Product Led approach.
- Troubleshooting & performance optimisation experience, especially on production systems.
- Self-motivated with a positive demeanour.
- Customer orientated, for both internal and external clients.
- An excellent communicator, facilitator, collaborator and doer.
- Be flexible and able to adapt to a changing environment.
- A bias towards system thinking, the ability to keep an open mind and to be motivated by others.
- Looks for innovative ways to demonstrate both new and existing systems.
- A willingness to work on-call and flexible working hours.
- A continuous learner.
- Exposure to PCI requirements and control management.
- Software delivery in regulated compliance-based environments.
