Job Description
This Chief Software Engineer position is with the Strategy & Framework team within the Authorization Services Organization of Network Processing. This Chief position will have a primary focus on payment card security, cryptography and tokenization the Visa payment ecosystem. As part of the Strategy and Framework team of VIP application, Chief Engineers are dedicated to lead, execute and enhance, the reliability and resiliency of the application, the productivity of the Engineers, the quality of software, the integrity and security of data, the flexibility of the products, to lead the innovation in functionality and to work collaboratively with other teams and platforms to support the growth of our business.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Master's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science, Information Systems or related field AND minimum seven (10) years of experience in a directly related field.
OR
Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science, Information Systems or related field AND minimum nine (12) years of experience in a directly related field.
OR
Minimum twelve (14) years of directly related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in TPF applications programming, proficient in both Assembler and C++
- 10+ years of experience in developing electronic payment systems
- 8+ years of working experience with payment card security and different kind of cryptography
- Hands on experience in payment fraud identification, detection and remediation
- Detailed understanding of the payment card industry and the payment ecosystem, and specifically overall knowledge of digital payment wallets and the implementation of tokenization
- Hands on experience in leading and solving critical application and database incidents of a Real-time application, ability to evaluate options, conduct risk/benefit analysis and made resolution decision. Able to provide executive summary on root cause, system and client impact, resolution and remediation of an incident
- Skilled with VPARS, TPF ToolKit and debugger, and testing TPF in a VM environment
- Proficient in reading and analyzing system exceptions (TPF dumps) during problem research
- Experience with structured analysis, object-oriented analysis and distributed systems and/or client server
- Understanding of overall TPF operation, and the ability to identify any efficiency bottleneck of a high-performance application
- Ability to solicit and analyze feedbacks and comments from different stake holders, to conclude a balanced solution/decision
- Ability to work effectively on multiple concurrent assignments with both technical and business staff
- Flexibility, self-motivated, high work standards, attention to detail, ability to perform as a leader of a team
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prepare and give presentations, and relates the key content at the level of the audience
- Ability to adjust the level of details during communication, based on the targeted recipients
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 183,100.00 to 238,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
