Job Description

This role sits within the Regulatory Compliance team at Currencycloud, reporting into the Senior Regulatory Manager. The Regulatory Analyst will assist in ensuring Currencycloud meets its regulatory compliance obligations, developing internal policies and procedures (that are not AML related), assisting with Financial Ombudsman Service complaints, promoting the global regulatory approach of the business and carrying out regulatory research relevant to the business challenges and needs.

Regulatory Analyst is responsible for helping with regulatory matters impacting the business. This diverse and varied role involves working across all business units to provide support and advice and ensuring that the company meets the regulatory requirements. The Regulatory Analyst has to support the Senior Regulatory Manager with maintaining the Group’s regulatory requirements at the group level and deliver the implementation of those requirements in the business and manage their impact across the board. The role involves researching regulatory issues, producing timely and accurate recommendations, liaising with external and internal stakeholders and submitting returns, notifications and filings in line with the requirements as well as managing the complaint-handling process in line with regulatory requirements.

  • Internal Controls - The Regulatory Analyst assists with planning and performing of internal regulatory controls and tracks them in the Compliance Monitoring Plan
  • Regulatory Reporting - Responsible for supporting timely and accurate submission of regulatory reports and returns to the FCA and other applicable regulators
  • Advising & Supporting the Business - Providing regulatory advice and support to the business, generally with support and review from a manager
  • Complaints -  Supporting the business with handling complaints and drafting responses to the FOS
  • Internal Policies - Supporting initial reviews of internal policies and procedures (not AML related)
  • Regulatory Insights & Expertise - Supporting the Regulatory Manager by researching new regulation and horizon scanning. Supporting the business on the implementation and impact of new regulations.

What are the OKRs?

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and rules applicable to Currencycloud 
  • Ability to provide timely and accurate regulatory advice to the business 
  • Keeping up to date with regulatory reporting schedule 
  • Working collaboratively with all teams across the business 
  • Awareness of key regulatory risks to Currencycloud business model 
  • Development of existing and identification of new policies and procedures 
  • Capably challenge and make recommendations as and when necessary 
  • Support the business in its expansion plans through global regulatory research and licence preparation 

Qualifications

Successful candidate:

  • Detail oriented 
  • Time efficient and exceptional organisational skills
  • Strong communicator – both verbally and in writing 
  • Self-starter and capable of working to own initiative 
  • Inquisitive and confident in questioning the status quo
  • Good team player 
  • Ideally 1-2 years’ experience in a compliance, legal sector, or regulatory consulting related role
  • Law degree is not a prerequisite but is helpful
