Job Description
The European Acquirer Business Development team is responsible for driving pan-European growth via close collaborations with strategic partners and internal colleagues across the Visa business including Country sales and account management, Product, Finance, Marketing, Legal and Consulting. Our ability to be successful rests on gaining a deep understanding of client needs, the market environment and delivering against shared goals.
We're seeking an Account Director to lead client engagement and drive maximum value for one of Visa’s key Regional Clients located in Europe. The role is key to our customer retention and account development goals within our growing customer base. You will be a key player in supporting one of Visa’s strategic clients to enable their ambition to become one of the leading Pan European payment technology providers. Due to the international footprint of our client, the role will require travel within Europe 20 percent of the time. Role to be based in Milan. Within this role you will:
Develop and execute account and portfolio level strategies that support key business metrics including client retention, revenue growth and profitability. Primary focus will be on developing, owning and executing the acquiring strategy across the region for Visa’s largest Pan European acquirer, whilst also acting as the Global Account Executive coordinating and consolidating view across all lines of business - Acquiring, Issuing, Processing - in close collaboration with relevant local market Account teams
Become a trusted advisor and drive proactive and consultative collaboration with client executives, by deeply understanding their business and aligning their needs to our solutions
Provide expertise on our global payment processing, issuing, and acquiring solutions and technologies and advise on key features and functionality allowing the customer to execute their strategies
Lead execution against Pan EU initiatives and Pan European incentive agreements in collaboration with functional and market leads
Closely collaborate, align and influence team of local market Account Managers, who will continue to own locally the client relationships, strategy and execution, to drive relevant regional and market strategies and priorities
Ensures coordinated approach and initiative prioritisation across region in alignment with relevant market, functional and account leads
Serve as customer advocate internally while effectively collaborating with internal, cross-functional teams including product management, customer support, sales, finance and legal
Lead solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the key internal resources for support
Lead ongoing strategic customer meetings to communicate best practices, successes, and business results. Prepare and facilitate quarterly business reviews & executive meetings
Analyse customer performance metrics to deliver consultative business reviews which result in strategic recommendations, best practices, and process improvements to ensure that they derive maximum value from their investment
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
• Bring strong credentials within enterprise account management along with relevant payments industry expertise
• Being accustomed to building relationships at board or Csuite level and having an impressive commercial track record to support
• Bring a strong bias for action, be an established self-starter who possesses a relentless drive to initiate change, raise the bar and deliver results
• Be comfortable influencing and guiding multiple internal teams in a matrixed organization to deliver added value to the customer
• Have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, demonstrated effective listening and questioning skills and is comfortable dealing with all levels in the organization
• Have excellent time management, organization, and planning skills
• Display ability to comprehend and translate complex technical issues and apply to business solutions
• Demonstrate ability to manage customer expectations internally and externally, and work both as part of a team and independently
• Have excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Be fluent in English and Italian, both written and verbal
