Job Description

A Card Present Product Architect works with our clients to understand their payment needs, before working with them to design and document innovative payment solutions utilizing our products and services. Where gaps, enhancements or questions exist within our product set, they work with our product management teams to address. They are thought leaders, problem solvers and researchers. The following main activities are part of the Job Description, among others:

  • Collect use cases, customer stories, and product requirements to clearly articulate desired features, functionality and gaps.

  • Design solutions based on a detailed understanding of a client's strategic priorities, business requirements, and technical capabilities.

  • Collaborate with Commercial Teams, Client Engagement Managers, and Implementation Managers to own all technical payment related client deliverables, from inception to release. 

  • Drive coordination with core product teams to prioritize product changes and feature enhancements, identifying critical paths and risks.

  • Regularly formulate hypothesises and pull together proof of concepts to test them.

  • Participate in the ongoing solution prioritization process for new or proposed client and partner initiatives to create fact-based assessments of projects with supporting recommendations for Executive Leadership.

  • Debug/research complex integration and production issues should the need arise.

  • Maintain high level of expertise across CyberSource products and solutions with a detailed understanding and appreciation for overall strategic context, priorities, and revenue goals

  • Travel may be required to support client product launches.

This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

Success in this role requires industry-leading expertise in product development and delivery, particularly with regard to creating and managing complex test plans. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Professional:

• Successful candidates should have a minimum of 8+ years of business experience within a top tier
payment gateway and/or Merchant Acquiring Institution.
• Undergraduate quantitative-focused degree in Business, Computer Science or Similar Degree from
top-tier institution. Alternative similar academic experience may be considered. MBA or relevant
graduate degree, a plus.

Technical:

• Advanced understanding of banking, EMV, payment card systems, payment methods, payment
security and merchant acquiring and processing in the United States.
• Current knowledge of emerging payment trends, players, and competitive landscape in the United
States.
• Experience in a product management, ideally using multiple software development methodologies.
• Proven experience with ISO8583 and ISO20022 a plus.
• A good understanding of software development and best practices a plus.
• Demonstratable experience in ecommerce, mobile and point-of-sale technologies a plus.
• Network and Data Communications experience/knowledge a plus.
• Extensive experience with software testing, issue identification, and resolution.
• International Experience working with Global Clients a plus.

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams within a multi-region matrix organization and with
business collaborates on key tactical programs.
• English and one additional language fluency a plus.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 139,800.00 to 181,800.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
