Visa’s Technology Organization is a community of problem solvers and innovators reshaping the future of commerce.   We operate the world’s most sophisticated processing networks capable of handling more than 65k secure transactions a second across 80M merchants, 15k Financial Institutions, and billions of everyday people.   While working with us you’ll get to work on complex distributed systems and solve massive scale problems centered on new payment flows, business and data solutions, cyber security, and B2C platforms.   

 

The Opportunity:

The Visa Technology Management (TM) team in the Operations and Infrastructure organization is looking for an experienced Technical Program Analyst to support large complex end-to-end IT initiatives.  In this role you’ll be a part of initiatives at the heart of Visa’s growth strategy, be at the center of teams working to solve some of the most challenging growth, scale, and resiliency problems, all while delivering new features, products and services to customers across the global payments and financial services marketplace.  

You’ll work across the solution stack and technology domains (compute, storage, database, network, etc.) interacting with the some of the best and brightest engineers, architects, and product leads pushing the boundaries of what’s achievable in delivering new and innovative payment solutions to the masses.  

You’ll need a solid technical foundation of both depth and breadth to guide teams in planning, designing, and delivering large-scale highly resilient platforms and services to our customers.  Your passion for excellence coupled with uncompromising standards and a positive principle-centered approach to leadership will help lift the programs you lead to new levels of performance. 

The Work itself:

  • Bring a customer focused demeanor with the ability to multi-task and lead conflicting priorities, see the big picture while paying attention to the details and navigate sophisticated processes with ease in order to deliver program goals and objectives on time and within budget.

  • Responsible for handling and supervising program scope, schedule and budget while proactively mitigating risks that could impact turning points and work you're doing.  Develop and track baseline and manage changes with input from manager or mentor.

  • Develop project/program artifacts with reviews/feedback from manager or mentor.

  • Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers and Architects to plan, design, develop and deliver hardware and software systems, platforms and solutions.  Identify and manage dependencies with guidance from mentor or manager.

  • Establish context and facilitate meetings to expected outcomes, ensuring appropriate attendees, agendas are in place and timely notes and follow-up are provided.

  • Develop, manage, plan and communicate to stakeholders with some oversight.  Collect, track, analyze, and share with stakeholders measures of success and progress on program execution.

  • You are a strong collaborator, ensuring all voices are heard and engaged in the program planning and execution.

  • You are a strong communicator in engaging all levels of the organization as your report on, and communicate current program status, risks, and issues, as well as risk mitigation strategies.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• PMP or similar Program or Project Management Certification
• Experience with Waterfall and Agile (SCRUM, XP, Lean & Kanban, etc.) methodologies.
• Experience with MS Project, Clarity, Rally, Jira tools
• ITIL v3 Certification
• Experience co-leading and/or supporting projects in one or more of the following areas:
o Application Development
o Deployments involving Database (including Big Data), Middleware and Storage technologies
o Deployments of SOE Linux/Unix and/or Windows technologies
o Deployments of VM Ware or other virtual computing technologies
o Delivering large capacity planning and tech refresh initiatives including software (OS, DB, etc.) and hardware platform upgrades across multiple environments, networks and data centers
o Deployments leveraging Hybrid and/or Private Cloud

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 100,200.00 to 127,800.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
