Job Description

Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) is a world-class organization responsible for growing all flows between businesses and governments, from SMBs to the largest global corporations.  The Large and Middle Market team (LMM) is part of VCS and works closely with financial institutions and fintechs to bring payment solutions that meet the needs of growth corporates, large enterprises, multinationals, governments, and public sector entities around the world.  LMM is responsible for the product development and management of a suite of products, encompassing core products such as Fleet, Travel, Purchasing, Payables and Virtual Cards, as well as emerging verticals such as Healthcare and Employee Benefits, providing innovative payment capabilities that exceed client expectations.

 

The Senior Director is responsible for the product development and management of our products and solutions within B2B Travel, Emerging Verticals such as Healthcare and Employee Benefits, Core Commercial Card Products, and Government/Public Sector.  This position is accountable for the vision, strategy, and product portfolio management across the products and services within these areas. 

 

The ideal candidate is an experienced senior product leader with the ability to inspire and motivate teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.  He/she must have proven experience in developing and leading teams to commercialize innovative products that deliver substantial value propositions to the market.  This role requires strategic leadership, innovation, collaboration, and creative problem-solving skills.  He/she is creative and hands-on, has a bias towards action and is able to inspire others with his/her vision.

 

This role requires breadth of knowledge and experience in commercial/B2B payments.  In addition to traditional product management experience, this individual will have prior strategy and/or product development experience in at least one of the following areas: B2B Travel, Healthcare, Core Commercial Card Products and/or Government/Public Sector.

 

Essential Functions

 

Product Strategy and Development

 

Lead the product strategy and portfolio management of the suite of products across B2B Travel, Emerging Verticals such as Healthcare and Employee Benefits, Core Commercial Card Products and Government/Public Sector

Collaborate with regional partners and LMM Segments team to understand and translate customer and market needs into product solutions that deliver substantial value propositions

Create new product strategies and define the pathway to the future to create competitive advantage and drive growth for Visa in these areas

Develop core and new product capabilities and create product roadmaps that take into account voice of customer feedback and market priorities

Collaborate with global platform owners as well as core technology teams on the planning, prioritization and execution of the product roadmaps 

 

Commercialization

 

Collaborate with global and regional partners, as well as sales and business development functions to define go-to-market strategies that support the launching and scaling of the relevant products and solutions globally

Evangelize the value proposition and differentiation of the relevant products and solutions within the payments industry

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), or PhD with 9+ years of experience

MBA or Advanced Degree is highly desirable

Deep product management experience within commercial/B2B payments

Prior product strategy and/or product development experience in at least one of the following areas: B2B Travel, Healthcare, Core Commercial Card Products, and/or Government/Public Sector

Experienced product leader with a record of accomplishment for creating and developing new product capabilities from initial concept to industry leadership

Proven track record of developing and executing a product vision for successful products based on a deep understanding of customer needs

Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new opportunities to innovate and differentiate with evidence of tangible business results

Experience managing and developing strong partnership with technology teams to influence and co-create shared roadmaps

Effective leadership and people management skills, with a focus on developing diverse, high performing teams and fostering an inclusive culture that is inquisitive and collaborative

Excellent ability to develop and communicate strategy, and secure internal investment for products

Natural collaborator, with excellent communication skills and strong executive presence

Must be self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity, possessing the maturity and competence to influence across multiple levels and organizations including internal and external stakeholders

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 183,100.00 to 238,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
