Position Summary 

 

The Investments and Partnerships Manager will support the full scope of the impact investment and grantmaking activity at Visa Foundation. With the support of the Head of Investments, they will lead on strategy refinement and support the investment and grant making team to align activity towards impact innovation and acceleration. They will engage with investees and grantees, as well as external partners and advisors. They will perform portfolio wide analysis with a focus towards incorporating lessons learned in future decision making. The preferred candidate should have a passion for impact at scale, strong analytical skills, and a high degree of autonomy in a collaborative, global Foundation. This role reports to the Head of Investments. 

 

Essential Functions

 

Strategy: Work with the Head of Investments to refine Visa Foundation’s grantmaking strategy across themes and geographies. 

Portfolio Management: Assist with portfolio-wide analysis, financial and impact management. Help foster learning and connection between grants and investments as well as underlying portfolio companies. Conduct quarterly and annual investment overviews in partnership with the Investment team as well as support the team with legal and operational tasks for investees.

Market Research: Research and summarize developments, trends and best practices in impact investing and grant making across sectors, themes, and geographies that Visa Foundation operates in. 

Internal and External Communication: Support Visa Foundation leadership team with internal and external presentations, reports, and programmatic updates. Work closely with the communications team to elevate the work that the Foundation is leading. 

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications


5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD

Four to six years of previous experience in a consulting or investment function. Graduate degree in finance or economics preferred.

Ability to integrate technology into work, expert level in PowerPoint and Excel.

Strong analytical skills and proven ability to connect dots among different work streams.

Comfortable communicating with all levels of stakeholders internally and externally

Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative mindset, self-starter, and an exceptional work ethic.

Experience working in emerging markets a plus, as is fluency in foreign languages.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 117,700.00 to 153,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
