Job Description

This is an exciting time to join Visa's U.S. Client Marketing team, as we strengthen our focus on deepening relationships with established Clients and launch Visa products with partners in Fintech.

 

As part of the U.S. Client Marketing team, the Fintech Marketing Director will serve as the primary point of contact and payments marketing expert for US Client Marketing.

 

The Fintech Marketing Director will lead the sell in and oversee implementation of marketing services engagements designed to enhance the client brand, grow its customer base and increase engagement with the brand and product. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge regarding payments marketing trends, insights and best practices, is accomplished in managing strategic partnerships and has a track record of architecting, building and implementing innovative, high-impact marketing campaigns on behalf of issuers, fintechs, processors or merchants. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Serve as primary point of contact and payments marketing expert for US Client Marketing on behalf of the clients’ business.
  • Nurture and grow client relationship, establishing US Client Marketing as preferred marketing partner.
  • Develop and manage annual marketing plans including revenue targets, budget, and monthly forecasting.
  • Participate in monthly client meetings and quarterly business reviews, champion marketing services in shaping client program strategy.
  • Lead sell-in of marketing services including research and insights, marketing strategy, creative development, execution, analysis, and sponsorships to help advance client marketing initiatives and business objectives.
  • Collaborate across client, agency partners and Visa stakeholders (digital partnerships, product, sponsorships, operations, legal and compliance) to ideate and launch innovative, high-impact marketing campaigns in the areas of sports, music, gaming and fashion sponsorships, events and experiences. 
  • Ideate, scope, pitch, negotiate, contract, and launch innovative marketing campaigns with emphasis on brand building and product marketing in the areas of influencer, digital, sponsorship, event, and experiential marketing. 
  • Manage administrative and operational processes necessary to bring client engagements to market – intake process, purchase order requisitions, BIA/contract development, legal/compliance approvals, VPC management, revenue recognition and invoice processing.
  • Coordinate with Fintech delivery manager to ensure seamless handoff of from business development stage to implementation and execution phase.
  • Provide ongoing support to cross-functional working team responsible for implementing client projects, share expert knowledge about clients’ business to help facilitate decision making and move projects forward.
  • Lead the measurement, analysis, and reporting of marketing program performance and its impact on business results, where applicable.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an
Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD)
• Significant experience in marketing in the financial services or payments including issuers, fintechs, processors or merchants
• Successful in operating in a fast-paced, highly matrixed organizations
• 10 or more years business experience, with majority in payments, marketing, advertising or
consulting roles
• Accomplished in B2B2C and B2C marketing strategy and working cross-functionally to implement and execute, with particular emphasis on creating first or new to market strategies
• Past experience bringing new ideas to market, creating innovative marketing strategies new to the business, navigating across highly matrixed organizations to secure approval and build the go-to-market roadmap to enable execution
• Skilled in crafting, pitching and selling new, innovative ideas to executive leadership and clients
• Confident in working in new territory or grey space
• Strong executive presence, excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient on all Microsoft products including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 169,200.00 to 220,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
