Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Visa+ is an exciting new service for enabling interoperability between different P2P payment apps and expanding real-time payouts to wallets. Visa+ does not require users to have a Visa card. Instead, by setting up a personalized receive-only payment address called a Visa+ payname, linked to their participating app, individuals can receive and send real-time payments across different participating apps quickly and securely. Since its launch in April 2023, Visa+ has been called a game-changer by the payments industry and generated strong interest from Visa clients and partners around the world.

 

The Product Manager, Visa+ will help to shape the future for Visa+ by identifying, defining and prioritizing business requirements and further refining these into new product features and enhancements for Visa+. You will need to combine understanding of client and business needs with innovative thinking and technical knowledge on various aspects of money movement to enhance the Visa+ value proposition. Succeeding in this role requires close collaboration with a wide range of cross-functional teams within Visa, as well as a sound understanding of P2P payments and digital wallets globally.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Gather input from key internal and external stakeholders, develop business requirements, and write feature descriptions using both the Waterfall and Agile product management methodologies including software development lifecycle.

  • Identify new product and solution opportunities for Visa based on the needs and plans of clients, internal stakeholders, or business priorities.

  • Develop and socialize new solution concepts and ideas internally to gain buy-in. Responsible for the entire lifecycle of the product development process, from ideation to production stages.

  • Maintain an ongoing backlog of features or enhancements. Define and articulate clear and understandable purpose for each feature and how it fits with the overall product strategy.

  • Develop and maintain monthly status reports of all enhancements, features, etc. Socialize with named list of internal stakeholders.

  • Perform and orchestrate in-depth research and data analysis to gain detailed understanding of potential Visa+ clients’ services and business, apply this knowledge to identify future opportunities.

  • Drive coordination with other business units, product teams, engineering and other applicable groups to ensure flawless execution.

  • Provide support for Product Management team by developing materials necessary to build business cases and secure necessary funding.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Management, or related fields, Master’s degree a plus
- 8+ years product, solutions or program management experience in digital payments. Ability to understand customer needs and design solutions based on those needs.
- Extensive knowledge about digital payments, including person-to-person payments, e-commerce, digital marketplaces, and funds disbursements.
- Deep understanding of Visa Direct and other Visa product capabilities.
- Experience in setting up and managing complex programs with several stakeholders in a matrix organization.
- Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall product management methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on client success. Comfortable making decisions with limited data, structuring abstract problem statements and defining solution path for execution.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large transactional data sets, interpret ambiguous situations, and make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize information and make clear, concise recommendations on a course of action.
- Creative, team-focused, and effective problem solver.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 130,800.00 to 170,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
