Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
The Payment Products Development Team is building a new generation of products to facilitate commerce in everyone's digital and mobile lives. Our focus is to build intuitive features that expose profound new value for our customers, merchants and developers.
As a Director, you will be part of our Authorization Services team in Payment Products Development. You will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the design, development, testing, and support of VisaNet's online Authorization System. You will also be responsible for instilling a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, working closely with business stakeholders to ensure that the Authorization System meets the needs of Visa's customers, developing and executing on a long-term technology strategy for the Authorization System, staying up to date on the latest trends in software engineering, and being an advocate for activities and practices that help to boost Visa's financial health.
The Work itself:
- Collaborate cross-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings
- Actively contribute to product quality improvements, value added service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads
- Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions
- Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later Technology

Essential Functions:
- Partners with stakeholders and leaders across business units to establish business requirements for use in designing technical solutions.
- Empowers team to develop design options and determine the scope and scale of effort required to implement final requirements.
- Monitors system enhancements and production fixes across departments.
- Assesses and champions plans to extend current systems to new products and services or refinements to standards, processes, and systems.
- Reviews multiple teams' solutions during rotational, on-call support for problem analysis and resolution when necessary.
- Oversees design and code review sessions as appropriate. Removes barriers to ensure the quality of work delivered by teams is in accordance with development standards. Ensures functionality of tools and processes.

**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have awesome team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.
Physical Requirements
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours. This position requires the incumbent to travel for work less than 10% of the time.
This position is based in Highlands Ranch, CO.
This is an on-site position. An on-site position must be consistently performed at an assigned Visa office location and require daily commute to the office location.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience
• Candidate must be able to establish and sustain effective software development and support practices that includes working with team members across multiple geographies.
• Good working knowledge of program and project management methodologies and the role of technology resources in support of those methodologies.
• Track record of managing the delivery of complex, multi-faceted technology initiatives.
• Solid understanding of software development methodology practices, and a proven history of deploying those practices to ensure successful execution against technology initiatives.
• 5 or more years of strong leadership skills, with recent experience leading a team and driving to results.
• Ability to establish and sustain effective, professional relationships with product and business managers, work closely with business partners in order to understand business drivers and market requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Experience with IBM's high availability, high volume TPF (Transaction Processing Facility) environment is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of card payment services processing is highly preferred.
• Undergraduate degree in computer sciences, electrical engineering, information systems or a related technical discipline is required, an advanced degree is preferred.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 143,800.00 to 187,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
