Job Description
We are looking for talented, curious, and energetic Site Reliability Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Visa Site Reliability Engineer, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team automating, securing, deploying, and validating software products that reach a truly global customer base. While supporting components of cutting-edge payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.
The Work itself:
Site Reliability Engineering for Visa Secure and Next Generation Fraud Signals (NGFS) includes the following: 1) Coordinate the deployment of security patches, bug fixes and feature releases while following the Golden Rules of Change. 2) Detect, mitigate, and resolve issues and following Best Practices for Incident Management. 3) Document, streamline and automate standard operating procedures using tools such as Confluence, Service Now, CloudView and Zero Touch Patching. 4) Other duties as assigned.
Visa Secure provides an added level of security to online payments, helping to reduce fraud by allowing clients to verify a cardholder’s identity during an Internet payment transaction. Next Generation Fraud Signals aims to stitch together various sources of internal and external identity related information to paint unified views of the individuals interacting with Visa’s ecosystem and generate signals to inform ongoing fraud decisions.
You will work with groups across Visa including Client Support, Product Office, Service Desk, Application Support, Middleware, Database, Security, Network and more. Working in Product Reliability Engineering means you are one of the few who have access to the Production environments. Because of that, you will interact with many groups across the organization.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- 1 or more years of experience with Linux and/or Windows operating system.
- 1 or more years of experience supporting Java applications that run in Apache Tomcat, or similar container.
- 1 or more years of experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB or equivalent.
- 1 or more years of experience with SQL.
- 1 or more years of experience writing scripts in BASH, PYTHON, PowerShell or equivalent.
- 1 or more years of experience with networking concepts and protocols such as DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, PKI, SSL, TLS, Digital Certificates, Security Scanning or equivalent.
- 1 or more years of experience with web services applications and tools such as SoapUI, Postman or equivalent.
- 1 or more years of experience with external application monitoring tools such as ThousandEyes, nGenius or equivalent.
- 1 or more years of experience with observability tools such as Splunk, Graphana, SuperSet or equivalent.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 100,200.00 to 127,800.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
