Job Description

The Senior Director of Loyalty and Marketing Services (LMS) PMO will be responsible for ensuring that LMS programs and projects are planned and managed through to completion in a manner consistent with the organizations established governance processes and values. They will be able to demonstrate how their experience and skills have enabled them to build and lead a cross-functional team, by executing against goals that align to organizational strategies and objectives. Their leadership style will align with the Visa leadership principles, which include: leading by example, communicating openly, enabling and inspiring others, excelling with partners, acting decisively, and collaborating effectively.

This individual will be responsible for leading a diverse, highly motivated team of Technical Program/Project Managers and Scrum Masters utilizing Agile Development Methodologies. Hiring and retaining top talent will be fundamental to keeping the organization motivated as we continually improve our processes in alignment with the broader Visa organization.

As the leader of the LMS PMO team, they will foster collaboration across global business and technology organizations, providing sound analysis and leadership. Building and maintaining strong internal customer relationships is essential as this position will work with business partners, technology leadership and technology development teams on a daily basis to ensure delivery of quality products in alignment with both global and regional initiatives.

The LMS PMO lead will be responsible for the oversight of all LMS PMO programs/projects in the portfolio, and will work in a geographically matrixed PMO team to ensure delivery.

This position will report directly to the Vice President of Issuing Solutions PMO.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to a team of technical program/project managers, and scrum masters.
  • Closely collaborate with LMS leadership team and the engineering organization for planning, delivery and execution of technology initiatives.
  • Closely collaborate with the Issuing Solutions and VAS Business Operations functions to align/lead workforce planning, governance, budget management, and audit activities.
  • Work with business partners to develop project road-maps that align with business objectives/priorities and take into account resource availability.
  • Overall responsibility for planning, executing, tracking and managing cost, schedule, and scope for all programs/projects in the LMS portfolio, including working in a matrixed PMO team for global development and delivery.
  • Direct project portfolio activities, conduct reviews, and use strong technical and business acumen to manage risk and address escalated impediments.
  • Ensure necessary consistency and standardization of processes across the team and the broader program management organization.
  • Partner with Technology Business Management for coaching and mentoring of local technology leaders on Agile/Scrum/Lean principles and practices.
  • Manage HR and performance management aspects of employees.
  • Mentor and guide team members through their career paths.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree. 10 years of work
experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD).

Preferred Qualifications:

• 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of
experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with
9+ years of experience
• 8+ years of direct PMO people management experience.
• Demonstrated customer relationship management skills, including working in
a global environment, communicating technical and business solutions to
senior management both internally, and externally utilizing various
communication mediums.
• Exceptional organizational and process management skills, with
demonstrated ability to influence cross organization teams in a highly
matrixed environment.
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to adapt quickly to changing
priorities, assignments, and roles.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to use those skills to
proactively drive both tactical and strategic solutions.
• Extensive knowledge of project management techniques, methodologies, and
best practices. Hands-on experience with Agile frameworks like SCRUM, Lean
& Kanban.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office tools (Microsoft Access, Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Project and Teams).
• Highly effective interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate openly with
a dynamic leadership team.
• PMP certification and experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Experience with Project Management and Forecasting tools such as Clarity.
• Exposure to tools like Rally, Jira Align, Jira and Confluence.
• Financial services or card payments experience.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 181,800.00 to 250,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
