Job Description

This Senior Business Development Manager role is a Sales opportunity within the US Financial Institutional Sales team in the Southeast Community segment. The goal of the Southeast Community segment is to everyday challenge and inspire existing and prospect clients to be intellectually curious, invest in, and grow the payments business.

 

This role is responsible for leading and driving key performance metrics against a strategic geography within the Southeast business, including securing existing business, cross-selling new payments and money movement solutions, and winning business new to Visa. In this capacity, the Senior Business Development Manager works everyday as the business manager of the geography over a portfolio of clients that includes both Visa-branded and DPS-processed clients.

 

Everyday responsibilities of this role include developing and executing territory plans and account strategies with a goal of protecting and growing the existing business, and capturing business new to Visa. This includes day-to-day pipeline and account management and sales leadership over portfolio. It also includes deepening senior relationships within the geography, including at strategic centers of influence important within the territory as identified by the Senior Business Development Manager.

 

This role is responsible for executing and meeting annual goals and plans at the territory level. Qualified candidates will show an ability to build relationships internally, to excel while managing the portfolio of clients, and selling new revenue generating opportunities.

 

This position can be based in the Visa Atlanta office or worked remotely from Florida.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Independent and guided territory management ability to determine decision makers and strategic clients/partners/vendors in assigned territory

  • Developing and executing customized territory and account plans to most effectively increase sales volume, revenue and market share within the portfolio

  • Developing C-level/Decision maker presentation skills/acumen

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and negotiate productive relationships across multiple levels of our clients’ business with no management assistance

  • Create and expand existing relationship/partnerships through cross sales and revenue generating opportunities

  • Confidently engage with C-level and leadership contacts and develop those relationships where they do not exist across clients, consultants, partners, and other groups

  • Working cross-functionally across a number of internal Product, Sales Excellence, Consulting/Analytics, Legal, and Finance, among other teams

  • Fluency in Visa capabilities/products/services most applicable to Community issuers and presenting business case/rationale to prospective clients for their adoption

  • Knowledge/Usage of CRM systems/tools to guide Sales process

  • Timely execution of all sales activities and tracking and reporting performance

  • Acumen in understanding and presenting complex financial information

  • Lead by Example both within the Southeast account team as well as all of Financial Institution Sales and Visa overall

  • Model key sales behaviors/skills and lead by example within the US Financial Institution Sales Community team and Visa overall

  • Assist in the on-boarding of new junior level employees

  • Represent Visa at industry meetings and trade shows

  • Keep current with payment trends, client business, and economic and competitive news

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 30% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 121,000.00 to 157,300.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
