Job Description
The Director of Value Engineering is an exciting and transformational role that will be a key member of the Value Engineering and Commercial Innovation team supporting Visa’s Value Added Services (VAS) global sales organization. The opportunity calls for a skilled, hands-on, analytical business professional who will be responsible for managing a team of global business value analysts, as well as supporting leadership on various operational process improvements and field enablement to drive broad scale of the sales methodology within our global sales teams. This will be a critical function that will enable sales teams to diversify streams of revenue, increase deal velocity, and deepen client relationships. This person will report to the Vice President of VAS Value Engineering and Commercial Innovation, located in Austin, TX.
This is a management position responsible for managing a team of professionals, and as such the candidate must possess strong coaching and mentoring skillsets with a specific focus on financial selling, business and financial acumen, be a problem solver, have competencies in sales strategy and customer facing consulting, as well as project management to oversee the process improvements. Our target candidate should ideally be a highly effective communicator with strong ability to influence others through analytical reasoning, creativity, and sound judgment. Applicants should be comfortable challenging the status-quo in a sensitive, efficient, and constructive manner.
Responsibilities
· Support the project prioritization, long-term planning, and management related to Visa’s VAS Value Engineering function to support sales effectiveness, & efficiencies in reaching our growth targets
· Serve as a player coach by conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis on the largest and most strategic deals to help facilitate deal-level sales strategies, customer facing presentations, value hypothesis, and business value/pricing assessments
· Manage and coach a team of intermediate business value analysts and team leads, focusing on delivering a best-in class operating model
· Assess existing processes and identify opportunity for ongoing improvements and project prioritization
· Partner with our product management team to optimize ROI/TCO templates & deal structuring models used to facilitate client-facing discussions
· Develop and promote best practice documents for the sales teams and key cross-functional stakeholder groups, while maintaining an internal repository for shared enablement resources
· Partner with various stakeholders to improve availability of proof points and analysis to support future prospecting
· Support the leadership team in various ad hoc projects aligned to deal velocity, commercial strategies, sales playbooks, and standardizing policies/procedures
· Interface, influence, and collaborate with key stakeholders such as Global Sales, Sales Strategy and Acceleration, Finance, Commercials Sales Operations, Deal Management, and Executive Leadership.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 10 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
• Strong business and financial acumen
• Exceptional influencing & presentation skills - thinks strategically to influence and drive tactical execution, particularly in a growing matrixed organization
• Exhibits strengths as a cross-functional navigator and consensus builder, with high financial and business acumen and sales enablement skills
• Low Ego and strong desire to win as a team – pride of outcome mentality vs pride of ownership
• Must be results-oriented, organized, able to handle multiple urgent tasks and must effectively deal with ambiguity in a virtual work environment
• Experience managing a team
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5 or more years of specific work experience (Experience in a Value Engineering, Business Value Consulting, Management function)
• Experience in leading cross-functional program initiatives and facilitating collaboration across Sales, Compensation, Marketing, Finance, Product, Technology and Customer Service organizations
• Knowledge and experience with Visa products seen as a plus
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 150,000 USD to 195,000 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
