Job Description

The Director, Client Transformation/ Technology Architect - VAS role will report  into the Head of  Client Transformation within the VAS Sales Acceleration function. The VAS portfolio includes issuance, acceptance and risk/ identity solutions with an ambitious goal to be the driving force for Visa’s growth. The role will focus on issuer segment clients technology/ data stack within NA/ LAC regions, supporting the global sales and commercial function of VAS  organization to grow and shape opportunities pipeline.  The  position requires someone with a payment/ consulting industry technology space with ability to hold executive level (CIO/CTO/Head of Treasury/ BU heads) conversations and provide client engagement(s) in a solution agnostic manner. Current Technology Architects/ Sales Engineers  who have  experience in banks/ fin techs/ processors on enterprise side are encouraged to apply.

The Director of Client Transformation will partner with Business Transformation Architects and specialized VAS Sales leads in NA and LAC regions to identify prospective clients in pursuit of short and long-term pipeline growth opportunities influenced by a mix of retain, grow and attack strategies. 

The target candidate should ideally be a highly effective communicator with the strong ability to influence leadership through analytical reasoning, creativity, and sound judgment.  You should be comfortable challenging the status-quo in a sensitive, efficient, and constructive manner.

Essential Functions

Play pre-sales client focused payment SME role

  • Partner with VAS Sales leads for developing strategy to accelerate opportunity leads  generation in NA/ LAC, developing best practices and frameworks for success
  • Collaborate with Transformation Architects  to assess issuers client data and technology stack to baseline against leading practices, developing solution-agnostic recommendations influenced by VAS solutions
  • Be an issuing industry practitioner who understands clients operating model challenges- People/ Process and Tech
  • Research and develop payment technology insights within issuing segment to trigger consumer payment transformation topics with clients  
  • Collaborate with channel partners and system integrators to generate leads and engage clients
  • Champion client needs, challenges and issues through an effective storytelling technique
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with a variety of global constituents throughout a highly matrixed organizational structure

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualification

• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Industry, Technology Strategy, Consulting background or having worked in a Payment ecosystem within a global, multi-channel technology sales/ strategy environment
• Exceptional interpersonal & presentation skills, with proven ability to lead by influence and example
• Ability to collaborate within a complex and often ambiguous environment, and to influence senior management and other relevant stakeholders
•Comfortable in operating in matrixed global organization
Accustomed to compensation driven by outcomes and achieved objectives

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 162,700.00 to 211,500.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
