Job Description
As a key member of Global Merchant Sales and Acquiring (GMS&A) team, this candidate will play a critical role in the Strategic Initiatives for the MS&A organization. The role will support the MS&A business at Visa – a team that drives the acceptance side of Visa’s business, ensuring that the MS&A sales organization is effective in providing client value and promoting adoption of Visa products and solutions. This person will report directly to the Vice President, Global Head of Strategy & Business Operations for Global Merchant Sales & Acquiring.
The ideal candidate will work with minimal guidance in a fast paced, ambiguous work environment, and will have the ability to independently translate high level guidance into detailed deliverables. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who thrives in hands-on environments, capable of diving into the work, taking ownership, and delivering results without the need for constant supervision or managerial oversight. He/she will demonstrate good interpersonal skills and executive presence. The employee is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Identify and lead cross-functional initiatives and accelerate progress on key priorities
- Collaborate with a wide range of cross-functional and cross-regional partners
- Structure and solve business problems, collaborating and coordinating with a range of internal stakeholders to make recommendations on a wide range of business issues. Build out unique, creative and impactful solutions by integrating insights across Visa’s many expert functional resources and supporting collaborative solution development.
- Acquirer, processor, Merchant, FinTech, non-FI landscape/opportunity analyses and creating actionable strategies on the changing environment for Visa’s distributors and recommended actions to address our dynamic client needs
- Develop processes for improving and sharing best practices to drive NPS, deal performance, strategic engagement
- Proactive design of next set of business development programs including, gathering feedback from regional/global leaders on programs needed complemented with client and competitive/external trend diagnostics to establish a point of view and prioritize opportunities
- Develop rigorous, fact based, quantitative analysis utilizing multiple data sources ensuring financial soundness / strategic alignment of recommendations.
- Develop clear and concise executive level communications. Communicate recommendations to senior management, other executive, functional, or regional staff and management in a clear, concise and impactful way
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated quantitative rigor
- Deep knowledge of the payments industry and acceptance ecosystem
- Demonstrated cross-functional experience in large matrix organizations
- Clear, concise, and influential communication skills with senior leaders
- Impeccable written communication in both prose and visual presentations
- Able to tackle shifting priorities at high speeds
- Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible
- Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and able to ruthlessly prioritize and identify the most important item to focus on
- High aptitude to learn quickly, assimilate to new teams and projects, and work well under pressure with appropriate attention to detail
- Organized and comfortable creating and executing workplans
- Strong EQ and presence, and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with people from various teams and various backgrounds
- Must be self-motivated, have a bias-to-action, and be comfortable with ambiguity
- Ability to inspire and influence those around you, even without direct management responsibility and proven success influencing senior stakeholders, and decision makers

What we are looking for:
- Requires 10+ years of relevant experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, and/or business operations
- Significant experience in the payments industry preferred
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 174,600.00 to 240,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
