Job Description
In this position, Individual will be part of the Identity and Access Management Platform Team contributing to the backend development of B2C IAM to enable secure access to Visa digital solutions through all types of channels – web, mobile, and device. You will be a key contributor to the innovations in the B2C Consumer and Device spaces. The position is based in Austin, TX, USA.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with engineering leads, engineers, product manager, architects and client support teams, lead product development throughout the entire development cycle. This role requires logical thinking, possesses a breadth of knowledge on applying technology, quick troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Consistently apply sound engineering practices leading to improved business outcomes.
Mentor team members. Conducts project level design reviews and guides the team through adjustments if necessary.
Work closely with product owners, architects, and product managers to drive and/or facilitate feature/user story grooming, functional and technical specifications, use cases and process re-engineering.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and proactively assess and evaluate the adoption thereof into the organization
Be flexible to accommodate cross-region team development/collaboration and address urgent production issues.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS degree in computer science or other related fields with a minimum 8 years of experience in Java and web service development OR MS degree in computer science or other related fields with a minimum 6 years of experience in Java and web service development.
Detailed knowledge in web services standards and related technologies, REST API, Microservices, Containers.
Solid understanding of database technologies including SQL, JPA.
Strong foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
Proven analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to respond resourcefully to new demands, priorities, and challenges.
Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong teamwork focus and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams and across geographies.
Passionate about learning and taking on new initiatives and takes pride in delivering quality software.
Proficiency with Agile Development Techniques
Experience in Identity solutions like oAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, security tokens (JWS, JWE, access token, id token) or other IAM is a big plus.
Experience in leading, building and supporting scalable and reliable data solutions using modern big data and ML/AI technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.) is nice to have
Knowledge and experience working with REST/JSON-RPC services, SQL, and NoSQL database is nice to have
Experience programming in at least one or more in Python, Scala and Go is nice to have
Hands-on experience developing and maintaining machine learning lifecycle: data preprocessing and feature extraction, model training and evaluation, and deployment and monitoring is a plus

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 117,700.00 to 153,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
