Job Description

What a Senior Accessibility Tester does at Visa 

In this role you will learn everything there is to know about accessibility and how we manage it within Visa, and then pass on that knowledgeYou will be involved in testing, identifying, and then implementing improvements to our development approach. This involves coaching and supporting the growth of engineers in the organisation, working with the wider business to align them to the broader testing processes set out for accessibility within Visa, using The Visa Global Accessibility Requirements (VGAR). 

As a as Senior Accessibility Tester, you will become one of the company’s subject matter experts on web and mobile accessibility from a testing perspective. Working to solve the many challenges and puzzles that come with implementing accessibility on our rapidly evolving technical stack, day to day this will include:  

  • Collaboration with other accessibility teams on future improvements to processes 

  • Support for testers and development teams during planning and design phases to include the inclusion of accessible content, and helping to resolve accessibility issues found in the product 

  • Assessment, triage and testing of both existing and new accessibility issues 

  • Co-hosting workshops on accessibility auditing 

  • Research into best practice and methods for adopting them where appropriate

Accessibility requirements are both legal expectations and have a strong relationship with usability - making our product outstanding in its field and a pleasure to use rather than a frustrating experience. 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

What you will need to have

You are a senior tester with a broad testing history and an interest in accessibility and its adoption in commercial software, as well as in research, collaboration, mentoring and training. You need to know about how to work with others, you need to have the drive to learn about accessibility and to share that knowledge with others in practical ways.


Relevant previous experience:

7+ years testing experience in a software development environment

2+ years with people development, mentoring and training responsibilities

Testing of transactional systems (e.g., banking, finance, telecommunications industries)

Experience with UI and UX tooling such as browser plugins, html markup, DevTools

Issue management including reporting on defect patterns across diverse teams

Technical experience using HTML, SQL, XML, XSL
