Job Description

Payment Products Development Team (PPD) is building a new generation of digital and secured products to facilitate commerce in everyone’s digital and mobile lives. Our focus is to build intuitive features that expose profound new value for our customers, merchants, and developers.

As Staff Software Test Engineer within Visa, you will form an integral role in the system design, test planning/strategy, testing & automation, and deployment of complex solutions that process millions of transactions per day worldwide. We are looking for experienced stars to solicit input from business and technology stakeholders across the enterprise and be responsible for the quality of large-scale technology initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead functional and automation testing for the applications you own. Contribute expertise for other application by participating in review sessions.
  • Review requirements to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, completeness & to mitigate risks.
  • Design test cases/test data, prepare testing plan and strategy.
  • Work independently doing functional testing, building automation tests, refactor regression test suites and providing functional sign-off for releasing the code to production.
  • Support trouble-shooting issues in both the test and production environments and supporting release deployments, E2E integration, performance, and PEN testing teams.
  • Collaborate with Development & partner teams on individual and team deliverables.
  • Adapt quickly to new application knowledge and changes.
  • Work in a loosely structured, fast-paced organization.
  • Passionate about delivering zero defect code/product to customers and have high sense of accountability for quality and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Mentor newbies in the team to ensure them to onboard them into project quickly.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualification:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience
• Minimum of 7+ years of relevant work experience in Automation, functional testing, and Java related tech stack
• Experience of SeleniumWD/Cucumber, Junit/TestNG, JMeter, POSTMan or similar tools
• Experienced in Webservices/API and UI functional, automation, performance, and security testing along with familiarity of industry wide tools such as RestAssured, SOAP etc.,
• Expertise in working on Java based automation framework, designing, and building tools/utilities, test data management and improving overall testing effectiveness.
• Experience writing and executing detailed test plans, test design & test cases covering feature, integration, regression, certification, system level testing as well as release validation in production and tracking defects to closure working with development team.
• Strong in automation to automate complete testing of both Backend and Frontend applications.
• Experience in working in TDD model to provide inputs in design from test perspective.
• Experience in writing SQL/NoSQL queries for automation requirements
• Must have experience in debugging and troubleshooting in Linux/Unix/Container based application servers such as Tomcat, nginx Docker, Kubernetes environments.
• Experience in software configuration management with tools development, test automation (GIT, Maven, Artifactory, Jenkins, CI/CD etc.,)
• Experience in logging tools such as Splunk, Humio, etc., for Monitoring and Issue triage
• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity.
• Experience working as part of Agile/Scrum team.
• Proven track record of testing secure API gateway solution
• Experience in performing early performance and load testing using JMeter or similar tools.
• Understanding of Microservice architecture, Containers Orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker etc.,)
• Experience in web and application servers such as tomcat, nginx, jboss etc.,
• Experience in application server configurations and network topology
• Good understanding of various architectural patterns/system designs.
• Ability to deliver on multiple projects and manage priorities based on changing directions.
• Build working relationships with global and virtual teams on software development.
• Highly driven, resourceful, results oriented, adaptability, flexibility of working across different types of projects, strong communications and sense of ownership and driver ship is required working across teams.
