Job Description

Visa Direct is a payment service that Visa provides to clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants and service providers) to facilitate disbursements to Visa accounts around the world using push payment technology, i.e. Original Credit Transaction (OCT).  Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person-to-person (P2P) transfer, person to micro-business transfer (e.g. payments to landscaper), funds disbursement (e.g. insurance claim disbursements), bill payment, cross-border remittance and more.  Currently, the push payments market around the world is estimated to be an 80T USD opportunity. 

This role will report into the Head of Global Account Management on the Visa Direct Specialized Sales Team. This team sits at the cross-section of sales and product with a mandate to accelerate growth for Visa Direct across the world. The Global Visa Direct Sales Director will lead commercial opportunities across some of the largest and most strategic global platforms on the Visa Direct Sales Team as well as lead sales efforts with new fintech enablement partners.

This role will be responsible for delivering commercial outcomes with global enablers across the Visa Direct business. We will be working in a fast paced, agile environment, so this person must be proactive and excel with internal and external partners to ensure we achieve our goals. 

 Visa is looking for an experienced global sales leader with a proven track record of success with complex, fast-paced clients and a track record of successful pipeline management. In addition to strong business development acumen, this a cross-functional team, so organizational savvy and interpersonal skills are critical.

Essential Functions

  • Own an aggressive global sales target for Visa Direct
  • Leverage internal and external relationships to develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline
  • Own the sales lifecycle from prospecting sales pitch to contract signature for top priority global clients in partnership with AEs and other cross-functional partners
  • Lead work to overcome and remove internal and external blockers to achieve sales objectives
  • Work with finance business partners to structure high value, complex global commercial deal structures
  • Support local, in-market sales teams with top priority sales initiatives
  • Provide insight and market intelligence to global lead-generation initiatives
  • Build strong internal and external relationships
  • Work with Visa Direct Product and Client Services Teams to lead technical sales solutioning conversations with strategic clients as necessary.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50 percent of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications

• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Own an aggressive global sales target for Visa Direct
• Creative Self-starter with a bias toward action and proven track record for successfully developing, building, launching and commercializing technology products that delight customers
• Lead work to overcome and remove internal and external blockers to achieve sales objectives
• Strong background of client-partnerships management, sales, and/or business development preferably at a global or multi-market level
• Industry related experience, including experience on commercialization teams, product management, strategy organization or management consulting
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on delivering for clients
• Work with finance business partners to structure high value, complex global commercial deal structures
• Work with Visa Direct Product and Client Services Teams to lead technical sales solutioning conversations with strategic clients as necessary.
• Excellent listening and communication skills (both verbal and written), and executive presence.
Must be able to interface with senior client executives
• Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to audiences in an approachable way to influence and drive adaption
• Passionate about what you do and excited about the opportunity to transform payments working for the industry leader
• Possess a high level of professionalism and leadership skills to build business relationships, trust and respect with business partners and suppliers
• Strong team player, self-motivated and the ability to work independently at coordinating across functional activities, and obtain buy-in
• An advanced degree from a top school strongly preferred
• Visa, financial or payment industry knowledge required. Push payments or real-time payments experience a plus

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 155,400.00 to 202,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
